Stinking Black Fuzz and the Shoes
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. It was the only window in the whole apartment – a seven-hundred square foot box with only three distinct rooms (living room and kitchenette all-in-one, bathroom, and bedroom), devoid of natural light save for a small window next to an old, sunken twin-sized bed.

Relics of a Bygone Society
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. For fifty years the aged cabin had not been lit, had not been occupied. Just a relic of a bygone society, or so had been thought by those who knew its secrets. The dilapidated structure saw weeds and vines encroach on its walls and windows after decades of being forgotten. The old path through the thick woods had all but vanished with time, and the creatures of the night had once again come to occupy the property and its surroundings in the absence of the lost souls who once kept them away with their hushed cries and hurried hikes along the passageway.

Heavenly Fire
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Once, they ruled the skies. They used to soar through the clouds, majesty and all, leading their packs and newborns to and from their homes high in the mountains. Mating calls would wake us at dawn every winter, just as the sun was rising. I used to watch and just wait until the perfect moment when they would fly at the just the right angle so the light from the sun shone through the thin, rubbery skin of their wings, illuminating them in a soft orange glow. A heavenly fire. The first time I saw that was the first time in my life I knew there must be a God. And in that moment, I also knew fire must come from heaven, not hell.

Reminiscent of a Life Never Lived
It’s best not to look into the past when it’s the thing haunting you. But that’s easier said than done. The past is all we know. We don’t have memories of the future, and by the time we acknowledge the present it’s already behind us. The past is all we have to show us who we are, to draw wisdom and knowledge from, to help us see where we should be headed. The past is all we have.

Five Things I Can See
Five things I can see. The breeze left its brushstrokes along the gently billowing sails of the charter. It painted their divots with shadows of dark blues from the sea and highlighted their convexities with bright whites from the midday sun. The boat sailed along with ease and with no great haste, making its way to the end of the world, where the sky meets the ocean. Several dolphins in a pod danced off to the left of the journeying sailboat. The brightness of the day was cause for squinting, even more so as it reflected off the white sand. Trees on shore swayed casually side to side, dancing to the lullaby of the wind and waves.

5 Steps to Land an Indeed Interview in Less Than a Week
I remember in my early days of job searching and Indeed using how many times I made an Indeed account, gave up after getting discouraged from my lack of inquiries after countless application submissions, then months later making another account, and the dreaded cycle continuing. “Oh, use Indeed! It’s a great resource for jobs and meeting employers!” I remember EVERYONE telling me. I couldn’t understand why everyone around me was having all this success with this website while I had tried countless times and couldn’t get a single fish to bite. Was I simply undesirable to employers?

Which WandaVision Character Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or are simply not a MCU fan (if those people even exist), you have probably watched Marvel’s new 2021 show, WandaVision, about the lives of Avengers Wanda and Vision, post-endgame, set mysteriously in an American sitcom exploring a new decade each episode. Please be warned: the following article DOES contain spoilers, so if you have not watched or finished watching the show, I suggest doing so before reading any further.

Brackish Hearts
The water below held the depths of a great many lifetimes, held memories of a time before I existed and would hold many more of a time after my existence. I wondered if it captured the emotions of those that passed it by, grasped on to a bit of each one and buried it deep below. I mused at what stories lay hidden in that brackish river. But in the black of night, all I could see was the ebony surface, the shine of the moon glinting off the contours of the small, rhythmic waves as they gently lapped against the rocky sidewall of the bridge.

Social Media for Social Justice
Try this on for size: Social media, no longer just a hub for bikini pictures, mirror selfies, and stalking your exes, but a grand stage for social reform and change at the forefront of the fight for justice. In an altogether miraculous evolution, social media has become the younger generations’ battle ground, platform, and voice.
