The View From The Back Of The Room
So, I grew up with a single mom, who worked in silicon valley, but who wanted more than anything to own her own business. She'd put her own dreams on hold for so long, mostly because she had me to think of. So, when she had the opportunity to, she’d go to seminars, workshops, trainings, and usually brought me along. This was the late 80s and early 90s, and to my mind, the fun stuff was all in the back of the room.

The Lowly Business Card
Even in today's digital arena, the business card is still one of the best business tools around. One of the first ways people get to know you is through social media, websites, and yes, business cards. I can't tell you how many times I have asked the interesting people I meet at meetings and events for a business card only to be told they don't have one, or they haven't gotten them printed yet, or some such excuse. The bottom line is IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BUSINESS CARD, YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DO BUSINESS!

It's The Little Things
Have you ever attended an event, received a letter, an email or read a book that had something missing, a typographical error or promised a gift and didn’t deliver? I know I have. And when that happens, no matter how successful, groundbreaking or impactful the thing was, all you can focus on is what was missing.
