Carrying The Weight Of Past Heartaches
We all carry things from our past with us. Life moves on, the world flows around us and we eventually fall into step with the pace of life. Those heartaches get buried under the other hurts. Our pain blends into the other experiences of life.

Heart Break And Catastrophic Loss
It is so heartbreaking watching the news coverage of the fires in California. Some are trying to paint the loss of some celebrities as equal to the average citizens. I'm in no way celebrating anyone losing their home. Most celebrities have multiple homes they can live in, but most of these people have lost their only home and everything they own.

“Someone ran away with her innocence.” From the first time I heard the song “Holy Water” by country powerhouse duo “Big & Rich”, it reached out and grabbed me by the heart. I listen to a lot of music; it’s my companion as I go through the day. Seldom does a song catch my attention like this one.

The Value Of Pets
My animals have always been a key factor to my mental and emotional health. Dogs have especially played a major role in my life. I can’t imagine my life with no animals in it. There was a time when I thought I was done owning pets, following the death of my last dog after seventeen years together. I have been fortunate to have many special pets come into my life. Some of those pets were with me during some challenging times in my life and if it wasn’t for some of those animals, I’m not sure I would still be here.
