The Vicious British Queen who Inspired the Bloody Mary Legend. Top Story - October 2021.
According to legend, if you stand in a darkened room before a mirror and say the phrase 'Bloody Mary' three times, a ghost will appear through the mirror. What happens next varies, depending on who is telling the story. Some say the spirit scratches your eyes out; others say that it drinks your blood or that she chases you from the room with horrific screams.

The Horrific Murders at the Heart of the Candyman Film
Candyman is a famous cult horror film from the 1990s. Unfortunately, many people who watch it would not realise that it is based on actual crime incidents. Although not supernatural in origin, they are just as chilling.

The Horrific Story of Dr Death who Maimed more than Thirty Patients
Christopher Duntsch was an American neurosurgeon who brutally maimed and killed many of his patients. Although not a killer in the true sense of the word, he is most definitely a sociopath who gained pleasure from inflicting the worse types of pain to his patients. Duntsch has now found himself the lead character in the drama series Dr Death. As with most things, the truth is much worse than fiction.

The Frightening Events Found to Inspire The Amityville Horrors
The Amityville Horror has been a popular horror film for many generations. Children like to scare each other into watching it; however, not everyone knows that the horror is based on two real-life experiences. The incidents happened to two separate families. The house which is the lead character in the film has been renovated considerably from the one we see on the screen. Many of the external shots for the film, being shot at the actual location. The Amityville Horror house is now known simply as 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville.

Afghanistan a Refugees Story
Three years ago, I was lucky enough to spend an hour a day with a young man from Afghanistan. I gave him additional help with his English to help him with his GCSE’s. As a teacher, I have never spent time with any student who worked harder. He was also one of the politest lads I have ever worked with. Over the year we were together, he told me stories about his country. These stories spring to mind and break my heart when I watch the news at the moment.

Ten Amazing People with Autism
I remember when my daughter was diagnosed with autism. The specialist told us as if she had announced a death sentence. To help us through the transition, she gave us a leaflet that detailed three famous people who had autism. Have to say they weren't the greatest selection to make you feel better.

I Never Realised Before I Came Out That ....
There are many things over the years that I have become accustomed to since coming out. Some of them have caused me many sleepless nights. Some have made me and my partner chuckle. In my innocent mind, I never thought any of these would be an issue.

8 Techniques to Encourage Positive Behaviour in the Classroom
I recently saw a post that made my blood boil; the post stated that bad behaviour in the class is never the teacher’s fault. Some children have problems, but there is always something that the teacher can do. Teachers as educators should be educating students on how to deal with their behaviour.

How to Encourage Your Child to Give You Eye Contact
As parents, we all look for those little milestones. Milestones such as first smile, convincing ourselves it wasn’t wind. Eye contact is another milestone that is heartwarming for a parent. It is also one of the social factors that a child on the autism spectrum (ASD) may find intimidating.
