You are not alone

Do you remember the first time you realized you were different? It may have felt like everybody around you changed, or that there was a disconnect. Guess what, you are not alone! I remember growing up being picked on and feeling as though I was on this journey alone. My mom would tell me all the time that I am set apart for a reason and being picked on is a part of the journey. I did not know what that meant at the time, but as life progressed, I began to learn. I was being called to a higher purpose and to get there I needed to develop tough skin physically and spiritually. Of course, it hurt to find out friends were not really friends and family members would speak ill against my name due to their lack of understanding of self but choosing me was more important. When I started to choose myself and love me more things began to transform. For the first time in my life I felt free and safe to be me. No longer operating to please people or caring what they had to say. I started embracing me, connecting with my higher self, and allowing "spirit" to guide me on my journey.
