I am a wife, another of two and a registered nurse. I am more of a spiritual person than religious at this point in my life. So, this is my first time trying my hand at writing. I hope I learn a lot, progress, and make new friends.

A Long Road Home
Wiping the sweet from her forehead, replacing it with mud. She then cautiously glazed up at the sun with squinted eyes thinking she would will need more water soon if she wanted to continue to play in the mud. The hot wind blew a dust of sand into her eyes causing her to jerk upward and stumble over to a bucket of warm water that had a tint of yellow caused by the reflection of the stained bucket.

The Changing of Seasons
Climbing, studying, feeling, and finally picking the perfect pear for the two of them, was what Johnny, day-dreamed about and looked forward to everyday even during class. Sitting in class listening to Mr. Lee, while staring down at his paper, pencil tapping on the desk waiting for the bell to ring. His anticipation for 3:30 was almost unbearable. Unbearable because he had a meeting with a pear tree, but not just any pear tree, it was the one which grew deep green leaves with pears that had a flicker of red and orange reflecting off of their favorite lake. This meeting between the two went on everyday, seven days a week.

The Gifts
Josie rushed over to Jennifer’s house, banging on the door, Jennifer opened the door wondering what was wrong. “ Are you ok?! You sounded scared on the phone and you look awful”, she said. “Thanks a lot!” Josie said while taking a deep breath, “didn’t you hear?!” “Huh, hear about what?” Jen replied, now getting nervous. They found him! Jen gasped, what, how do you know? Josie snatched the remote and turned the television on. “I knew it, I knew this would happen!”

The Deep Thaw
Finally, June 15th was here, the last day of school, Lisa couldn’t wait. She had been invited to a party at Scott, a well known football player’s house. She wasn’t going to go but her best friend Susie, told her Mark would be there. Mark was also on the football team and Lisa, was so in love with him even though he had no idea who she was. She had fantasized about him all of her freshman year. What girl wouldn’t find a senior who played football sexy. That night finally came.

Sweet Revenge
Everyone has a breaking point. Whether it’s ten days from now or ten years. Leslie’s was today. Today was the beginning of the end. No one should have to live like this no one, is what she was thinking while applying ice to her eye and mouth. When people say there are signs no one becomes an abuser over night they hadn’t met David. In the beginning he was charming, tall, handsome, and a doctor. He knew exactly what to do and say to make you fall in love with him. He taught Leslie how to dance and how to have a good time. She never saw the night of November 15th coming.
