Katonah Doctor Offering Medical Marijuana Consultations in Mt. Kisco
You don’t have to wait long on late night TV for some comedian to take shots at the idea of people using marijuana for medical purposes. Dr. Lynn Parodneck, whose private practice in Mt. Kisco is now offering marijuana consultations, has no problem joining in lightheartedly. “The jokes are funny,” she freely admits. But she hasn’t taken up the cause to be part of a national punchline. The closure of St Vincent's in Manhattan gave her the impetus to leave behind her gynecological practice and take the opportunity to help people who are suffering.

John Jay’s Amanda Gisonni Let’s Others do the Talking - Especially Her Uncle
About seven years ago on Easter, I suddenly learned my niece Amanda was something of a natural as a pitcher. Dinner finished, we all went to a nearby park and got a look at the 10 year old prodigy. Not bad, but all I had to do was sit on her fastball to sure up my place as the best softball player in the family. As I made my way to Yorktown last week to see her on the hill for John Jay High School, I still wait for another chance to let her know where we stand in terms of our common lineage.

On her website, Flo Ankah states a focus on empowering creatives and entertainment professionals. On the other hand, she doesn’t limit inspiration to those who are all about putting on a show. “We are creative when we find solutions so you can be an accountant, a lawyer or a stock broker and be creative,” says the New York City actress, singer, etc, etc. But either way, moving on comes under the same guise for anyone who chooses ThetaHealing® for a coaching session.

'Star Trek V' Is Pretty Hard to Defend, But I’m Going to Try Anyway
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is pretty hard to defend. This especially after we thought once the credits and the theremin faded, the thrill ride would pick right right up where The Voyage Home left off. I'm going to try to do it nonetheless.

The Origins of the Term Socialized Medicine and How Mad Men Sank Our Chance for National Healthcare in 1948
Back in 2008, the smoke cleared, we wiped our noses, and finally got healthcare reform. Gesundheit!! Well, sort of… With a universal acceptance of a system in dire need of repair, I envisioned congress intelligently fighting it out. As a result, the best of both worlds would create compromise that could not be beholden to any one political ideology or sustainable business model. Oh my God, what was I smoking back then?

'A Quiet Place' Is Very Suspenseful but Falls a Little Short
All I knew about A Quiet Place before going to see it last night was that it was a horror film and making noise meant you were in big trouble. Emily Blunt and John Krasinski don’t waste any time expediting the urgency either, and the weight of the silence heightens the tension from the outset.

GPS Wrestling in Armonk Is Ready to Roll Out Its Preseason Program
Wrestling takes tremendous commitment, and coaches love kids who are always ready to throw down. On the other hand, overdoing the commitment can induce a burn that leaves mat progress on the outs. “Sometimes you have to keep the kids out of the room,” says Grant Paswall of GPS Wrestling. But summer over, Paswall has his preseason program ready to simmer and bring its wrestlers to a boil for the 2017-18 school year.

Former Somers Pitcher Provides Bio-Mechanical Clinic to Keep Young Arms Healthy
Even though former Somers High School standout pitcher Dan Zlotnick believes the premium on velocity has undone many major league pitchers, he’s all for elevating the mercury at home plate. He just knows there’s a right way to do it and a wrong way. But the clinic he’s providing at the Somers Sports Arena doesn’t quite have an eye on getting ahead of lofty Major League downfalls and aspires to enable kids to keep bringing it home. “We want them to stay healthy because that’s the biggest thing that gets them out of the game,” says the 2009 Somers grad.

You Don’t Know Whether You are Coming or Going in 'Roman J. Israel'
When I saw the preview for Roman J. Israel, I wondered how I had missed this real life Civil Rights lawyer from the front lines of early 70s injustice. I eventually learned the esquire was a fictional character, and despite the outdated fro and retrograde wardrobe, the setting was present day. Even so, the trailer tidbits and performance prove Denzel can still obviously bring it, but no amount of chops, can save all the back and forth this film subjects you to.

Hey Cable TV, Stop Cutting the Credit Roll and Final Score!
I'm not one of these movie aficionados who must sit alone in the dark so I can see who the third best boy was in a production. But it drives me nuts when the cable company micro-boxes the credits and cuts off the ending score. Of course, it’s not necessary to play the entirety of the scroll. Raiders of the Lost Ark, for one, descends into a romantic drone after the iconic uplift. So feel free to cut away after about a minute.
