A fast break layup and pair of threes by Colin Bishop made for a manageable 15-8 score. But the mini burst turned out to be a blip.

Off to the couch, Melody (Lee Hubilla) and Chris (Rob Chen) delve in, and our blood pressure elevates in kind. Then maybe as expected, the wrong words come out and ain’t going back in. “You look just like me,” Hubilla blurts out almost subconsciously, and with bewilderment screaming inside and out of the fourth wall, the moment encapsulates the long journey for cultural self discovery for the filmmaker.

John Jay Wins Match of Runs Versus Rye

Of course, the heart of the Wolf lineup was on deck, and there seemed little cause for concern. But Austin Omin, Jojo Kern and Jake Llanos all had their hands full, and the visitors proved nothing in this sport is a gimme.

But the Bulldogs didn’t stop barking, and a 38-32 third period score had the visitors hanging tight. That is until John Jay’s center made like a guard.

In favor of Harrison, the Huskies didn’t stay close for long.

Somers outlasts Clarkstown North in 53-51 Victory
Please see tip, pledge and subscribe buttons or my venmo : @Rich-Monetti On Friday December 27, Somers left the holiday festivities behind for the first round of the Pelham Holiday Tournament, and a lot of Clarkstown North length initially put a damper on the after party. A 29-18 first half deficit resulting, Somers was in danger of being run out of the gym. This especially since a halftime speech wasn’t going to make any of the elephants taller. But Coach Loughran disagreed.

Somers Battles Back in 54-49 Defeat

Putting the festivities aside, the Tuskers matched up well on the inside and out. But a pair of buzzer beaters gave the Foxes a 34-25 halftime lead. So with their work cut out for them, Somers did not fail to answer the call.

Somers Pressures North Salem in 46-32 Victory

So after John Aniello got the Wolves off to a technical default, the Pelicans reeled off three straight pins. 18-5, Austin Omin was not thrown off by either factor.

Somers Stampedes Harrison to 53-12 Victory
Please see tip, pledge and subscribe buttons Video Clips Slideshow vs John Jay On Thursday December 12, Somers hosted Harrison at the Middle School, and a 53-12 victory didn’t really put the Tuskers or the home crowd on edge. But down 9-0 in his match, Derek Kuchinsky still felt weight on his shoulders. “Everyone on our team had won, and I didn’t want to break the streak,” said the 145 pounder. So he refused to be the weak link.

Swim Team Takes Down Bryam Hills and Already has Eyes on the States
Please see tip, pledge and subscribe buttons below On Wednesday December 18, the John Jay Fox Lane Thundercats dove into the pool with Byram Hills PVW at Westchester Communiy College, and not only took the meet by a score of 99-84, but a number of the swimmers settled matters for the upcoming state championships in March of this year.
