Nightmare of a dream
It was the beginning of fall, the year of 2069. It was an awesome day. It was pumpkin everything time of the year. I love everything pumpkin. The smell and taste of the fall just feels so good. It was time for the Apple Pumpkin festival , so it was time to hang out. The anticipated wait for the festival all year was making my friends and I go crazy. Being able to get things that you can’t normally get the rest of the year feels like you are in heaven. Sheena, Keith, Emily, and Charlene was all waiting for me at the apple dumpling stand. We have been friends for years. We are still in high school. My group of friends and I are more or less the type of people that do their own thing and not all about popularity or being jerks to people. We had been bullied all through school for being different and not your average school stereotype group. Sheen was more the country farmer, cowgirl type. Keith was the type more of a guitar playing sweetheart. Emily is more like a shy and scared girl but extremely nice. Charlene is awesome. She has your back and doesn’t put up with anyone’s bullshit. Well, as for me I’m a little like all of them. I grew up countryfied, love music, I’m shy about somethings when it comes to men, and after being beat on my entire life by my father, I’m tired of everyone’s bullshit. So our little group are oddballs and we are close friends. Meeting at the apple dumpling stand, of course we had to get an apple dumpling. Then we all headed to get our fresh squeezed lemonade and apple cider. So we begin walking around looking at the yard sales, the craft stands, and all the different goodies. There are so many things to look at. One of my favorite things to look at is the vendor that has all these dragon, fairy, wizard, and skull statues. Each one of the statues are absolutely gorgeous. Charlene spots this really cool licenses plate and you can get whatever you want put on it. This same vendor does dog tags, shirts, and basically anything they can print on. Charlene said, “Why don’t we all get a t-shirt with our pictures on it?” We all responded, “Hell yeah.” But I responded, “Only if I get to have a tie dye one.” Everyone said, “Oh yeah that would be awesome. We want tie dye too.” So we took a photo of all of us together. We all made a goofy face for the photo. The vendor said, “ Give me about an hour or two and the shirts should be ready.” We all shook our heads and said, “ No problem.” So we went and continued looking at the other vendors. There was a lady that was selling homemade Native American jewelry. The pieces were beautiful. So about thirty minutes later the sky started to grow dark. The clouds started to change form and turn to a dark purple. All of a sudden little, glowing blue pebbles started falling out of the sky. They were hitting everything and going right through everything. They were going through like meteorites but burning like acid. You know like when you pour acid on something in a chemical lab. The smoke and whatever it was poured on starts dripping the left over pieces. The pebbles were about the size of a nickel. Everyone was trying to take cover. It was hard to take cover with these pebbles going through everything. The only places that it seemed to take a while for the pebbles to go through as anything made with concrete. People that were on the grounds ran into buildings, tents, and culverts. The people that ran into tents were still getting hit with the pebbles. This continued to happen for roughly two hours but seemed like forever. Everyone finally started coming out of hiding, still being extremely cautious. Some people had major burns all over their body's because of the pebbles. The pebbles actually caused some people to die. Being hit in the head chest or near major arteries. The acidic burn took lives of people that were friends and family. By this time the weird pebbles were cooled off. So many of these pebbles fell from the sky that you could no longer see any type of grass or ground. The ground almost looked like a bed of these pebbles. My friends and I found each other. We got separated when we were trying to take cover from these things. No one was hurt too bad. One of those pebbles went right through Sheena's cowgirl hat. The way it went through almost looked like an arrow went through her hat. She did get a small burn on her head from where the pieces of her burnt hat dripped on her head. All of a sudden the ground began to rumble. These little pebbles began to make a cracking noise, like an egg cracking.
