Winslow Woods
We are the Winslow Woods. And we have been here for more years than we have really been bothered to count. During this time, we have seen hundreds of creatures come through. Animals that live here along with humans that briefly pass through. Sometimes taking pieces of us to use for either shelter, firewood, or other things. None of which really bothered us in the slightest bit. It just how things are.

A Loving Dragoness
My Mom had me when she was nineteen years old. A little too young to be having a child now that I think about it. She had a lot more growing up to do and having a baby didn’t really help. Neither did having two more of them. My younger brothers, Trevor and Andre. Marrying my baby brother’s sperm donor out of some obligation to give us a father-figure.

Horror of Queerness. Top Story - February 2024.
Pride was for other people when I was younger. Living in the Midwest didn’t really give me a lot of insight into what queerness is. Despite having a bisexual mother and trans neighbor I had no honest idea what it was. There were a ton of examples of it growing up. Both problematic and I suppose as unproblematic as they could be at that time.

Oh The Weather is Frightful
Outside, there was a blustering snowstorm going on. So strong that there had been no way of seeing outside clearly. Probably around to a foot or maybe two outside. If I were to guess. I do know that there’s enough to make the sidewalk invisible. Along with the street that I currently reside on.

Mela Mela the Unlucky Rabbit
'They will come back for me.',I told myself as I laid there. But there was no way that they knew I was the cold pavement of the playground. I couldn't speak or move. No one was going to notice that I wasn't there. Not until it was time for bed and Minnie needed me.

The Shedding Skin Two
By the time that they dragged a teacher into the gym, the girl was gone. And so was the 'wishing well' that she had sang to. Both girls told the teacher what they had seen. How she was just there a moment ago. Covered in realistic vomit and glowing like a lightning bug. The teacher, Mrs. Hawkins wasn't amused. Her eyes scanned both girls' faces a moment with a thoughtful look on her face. In a soft voice, she said,"There's nothing here. I don't appreciate pranks, girls. I have a lot to do before the dance and I'd like to get it done."

The Cheshire House Sixteen
Hello Journal, We had gone to our job just an hour ago, things seemed fine. And we've been spending time trying to not go back to my Grandparents house. This was going to be a difficult venture and I was worried that we'd find some rotting shambling corpse. The spirit that was trying so hard to protect us from whatever danger it believed was around. I know that expecting to see him walking around is stupid. In fact it's really stupid and I'd smell him pretty easily if he was hiding around the place. But Trevor and myself haven't been that wise lately.

The Shedding Skin One
The room was lit by lantern light and full of wonderful props. A forest that encompassed most of the place and painted with strange faces. Each either twisted in horror or shock. Under them were either styrofoam headstones. Or large pieces of paper mache painted to look like boulders. The grass made of strange pieces of shredded construction paper. Amongst them were cobwebs made of either cotton balls or string. A young woman was stringing them up on the fake trees. Humming as she went along. She was tall, wearing all black clothing, and chubby. Her long black hair pulled into a messy bun.
