New life within a new year

A poem about change

Another year has gone by,

The winds are cooler,

The rain came and went now,

Everything feels so familiar yet so new and different,

Last year was a year of death,

A year of endings,

It was a lot of tears,

Some things ended before they could’ve even began,

Then, as the seasons changed so did the tides of life.

The warmer weather brought on new life,

New adventures,

New experiences,

New opportunities,

Then with the climax of everything coming to the peak of its metamorphosis,

A new life has been born.

The size of a pea,

With no real structure or form,

It was there.

Now the year is lapsing its benchmark and surpassing everything from last year with a new sense of purpose.

Let’s hope for an every greater year next year.
