Aftermath
The artist Jacqui Gallon made ‘Aftermath’ during and as part of ‘Becoming Wild’ an immersive two day workshop led by artists Miffy Ryan and myself in the secluded wood that is currently Jacqui’s outside studio / workspace. The workshop was part of the 2022 Taiwanese Artist Intern / Residency programme hosted by Fearon Hall in Loughborough UK, curated by Jacqui Gallon and mentored / envisioned by Professor Ming Turner.

E-Bike City
Many years ago the city of Leicester, situated in the East Midlands of the UK, proudly announced itself to the world as the first ‘Environment City’. Just What is Killing America’s Bald Eagles?
The bald eagle is an iconic bird synonymous with the USA. Since 1994 bald eagles living by mainly artificial lakes have been developing a brain disease that sees them losing control of their co-ordination and dying. The deaths have perplexed ecologists and other scientists for years. The disease was somewhat similar to ‘mad cow disease’ in humans and this led scientists to believe that the disease may be due to something in the food chain that finished with the bald eagle.

Eat Your Beets Leaves and All
I went for a walk in the rain today. Summer rain. The type of rain that isn’t that heavy but constant. The air felt and looked misty. The countryside side of the urban edge of our small town of Loughborough felt and looked particularly bucolic this day. The sheep helped this vision and the rain didn’t seem to bother them so why would it bother me? It didn’t.

‘House’ a Japanese Movie Cult Horror Classic
So last night we decided to watch ‘House’ a Japanese horror / comedy movie made in 1977. I knew nothing previously about this film other than it was on the British Film Institute’s playlist and so came with a good pedigree as I haven’t found many films on the BFI PLAYER that are bad films. I don’t like them all but even the ones I don’t like I can see that they are well made in one way or another.
