The river ran backwards on the day the queen vanished. It was a breathtaking and terrifying sight to see. The sky turned black as huge dark clouds blotted out the suns light completely. They resembled rain clouds but these were different. They didn’t move with the strong wind gust, they hovered over the town of Orchid sending it’s villagers rushing outside to stare up into the noon sky that looked more like midnight. It was so dark you couldn’t see your hand if you held it up right in front of your face.

Unspoken
I write when I can’t speak. The words get embedded in me deep down between my soft tissue. They’re so bottled up within me that they have no escape. Words so tightly wind around my insides that my body is rigid. My organs are assaulted and I feel I’m turning to cement. My throat is closing up. I can’t speak so all the letters are trapped behind my tonsils. Fighting against the roof of my mouth, stabbing my gums. Knocking around the backs of my teeth creating new sentences mixed in with saliva.

Alice and Abel were patient and still. They never let on what their intentions were. They’d done this heist before, this time it started at the supermarket. They strategically placed themselves on a table next to a tiny stuffed pumpkin. It was the day after Halloween and our new owners couldn’t resist us standing on the clearance table.

Joe Goldberg
Joe Goldberg is my guilty pleasure. If you‘re a fellow watcher of the Netflix series “You”, that name alone invokes many emotions. Whether you unwittingly love him or hate him. One things for sure, Joe is a character that you’ll never forget. Gone are the days of my childhood, when all the tv and movie characters were written so rigidly black or white. In walks the grey characters with all their complexities that I love. Joe is the embodiment of the grey and so the story begins. For anyone who hasn’t watched it yet, I’ll try my best not to ruin it for you but you‘re going to want to add this one to your guilty pleasure binge list.
