Writing has been my passion since before I can remember. Sadly, I’ve yet to reach the honored level of author, but I’m on my way!

Understanding the Nexus. Content Warning.
“You’ve all heard the phrase, ‘opposites attract’, right?” The tall, dark professor—Jaxn Lycidella, as evidenced by the epithet neatly scrawled on the whiteboard behind him—pacing in the front of the auditorium style classroom queries. My gaze hasn’t left him since I’d first been aware of his presence. I have to actively stop myself from drooling as he continues without waiting for an answer. “How bout, ‘Yin, yang’. Yeah? ‘What goes up, must come down’. Each of these sayings have distinctly different meanings behind them, right? But they all have one thing in common.” Professor Lycidella pauses with an oddly neat eyebrow for a guy raised as he scans the fifty-some-odd students.

Strike 1. Content Warning.
K’Juanxie I startle from my dreams when I hear the train conductor announce that we’ve arrived at our final destination. Finally. Stepping out of my car, I navigate my way through the busy platform toward the exit of the station. I haven’t been outside of Lycaria—let alone off Capkin lands—in years. Ever since Mom’s death when I was five years old, my dad, along with my sisters’ biological fathers had decided to keep us under the strictest of protection. While as an adult, I understand the necessity and fear behind the decision, I still wish my connection with my sisters wasn’t as strained as it is.

Lawless
Natalia It was a dark and stormy night. Okay, well it was only, like 9 am, but there were still clouds and rain and lightning. As was the norm in the Pacific Northwest. I’d just gotten out of the shower and stood in the small closet space of my one-bedroom apartment, looking for something to wear to school today. It’s not like I had a wide variety to choose from. But I still wanted to look presentable with a hint of badass for my first day of Freshman year at the university. I’d gotten a full-ride scholarship to Anarchy Academy, that I didn’t even apply for, but turned them down. I, in no way, wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. I’d emancipated from him, not long after Mom died, and I had no interest in becoming an assassin or taking over my sperm donor’s gang. AA was a school developed for the two ruling gangs in Mayhem, Anarch. It was odd how opposing gangs can go to school together, but that wasn’t my problem to worry about.

Emotions of a Nobody
Perception is reality. Anger is a blemish. Sensitivity, a weakness. The way they see me is the way I am. Acceptability contingent on however I'm viewed. Constantly judging my reactions and inactions; belittling my state of mind into a debilitating void of self-deprecation. Forcing me to face my own faults. Precariously pacing the thin line of who I am and who I "should be". They're confounded by the rampage of the woken bear--but who set off the alarm? Perception is not reality. I am angry when I'm angry. I'm sad when I'm sad. And when the time comes, I no longer let fear of judgement keep me from embracing my happiness. The heady feeling; the giddiness of being who I want to be.
