The Birth Of Our First Child
It was July 12, 2011, and I was nine months pregnant. I had another two weeks until I was due with my first child. I felt like I wasn't prepared even though I watched and read all the books of what to expect during labor. It was my first child and I was so nervous. Do you blame me for being nervous? Everyone always talks about how labor is so painful. That is what I was nervous about. I wasn't nervous about having a child, I was excited to meet this bundle of joy that I have waited my whole life for. We knew that it was a girl and we had our apartment ready for her to come home. I just wasn't expecting her to come two weeks early.

The Memories of Child Abuse
I was five years old when I first remember what it was like to be afraid of someone. My mom just got married to my stepdad and they just got into a huge arguement. I was eating some apple slices watching my favorite cartoon. Then, I looked over and watched, this supposed to be my new father figure, hit my mom in the face. Of course, I started crying because this was something that scared me. I was scared for my mom and I was scared of him. That's when he turned around and said to me, " You better stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about." These are the words that haunt me for the rest of my life and I will explain why.
