Life Experiences; Taking New Chances to Have New Experiences in Life
Life is a very uncertain and fickle thing. There is no uncertainty about the unpredictability and fickleness of life. We can’t predict what tomorrow will bring, what dreams we will fulfill, or how many of them we will forget. Even as we write this, we are not sure if our memory will allow us to recollect this piece, or if it will end up as a fleeting forgotten dream from our inner consciousness. It is this unpredictability and fickleness that needs to be embraced and embraced it we can. To live life, we need to live it to the fullest, to seize every moment, every experience we can, regardless of how many of those we have and how much we will remember, because, the ones that we will forget are the ones that do not matter at all. The ones that do matter are the ones that we can let a memory remain ingrained and will someday live on in our minds and hearts for all eternity.

Overcoming Obstacles To New Experiences
According to the radio program Time Warp, I’m a ‘highly focused person’. If you meet me at a restaurant, I will not be late, because I can’t do that. It took me a long time to understand that what this meant for me was: “I hate to leave.”

St. Helena's Isolation Ends as Air Link Opens
Roughly halfway between South Africa and Antarctica, the remote St. Helena Island is home to about 4,000 residents who have long depended mostly on the sea and air cargo for supplies from the outside world. Now, St. Helena will become the world's most remote island airport — which probably will fall short of enhancing its status as the most isolated island community. But the mere prospect of bringing in fresh fruit and fending off mental deterioration with a flat of cola is drawing cheering crowds of 4,000 islanders and visitors to the airport's freshly-expanded terminal.

Night Owl at the Fair
Nick is the type of person who likes to stay up late, who doesn’t sleep so well at night. His friend Judy is a morning person. If a scientist could examine both people, would he be able to tell which one is the night owl, and which is the morning person? Maybe he could test Nick by having him stay up all night in a darkened room, observing him, and then ask Judy to wake him in the morning. That’s basically what this bit is about: the two of them falling asleep watching a movie, Judy putting Nick in a sleepover and waking him up, Judy placing Nick in a dark room and waking him up, and then Judy taking Nick back to Judy’s house. As my mother would say, it’s about the best example of a punchline one could ask for. It’s just so incredibly well done, especially the bit where Nick’s eyes pop open, and he screams. It piqued my interest.

Making Better Sleep a New Year's Resolution
Next year, the gym won't seem so daunting. The flu won't seem so intimidating. The writing assignment won't seem so intimidating. That's the good news. The bad news is there are people, like my wife, who have changed their New Year's resolutions to actually... stop procrastinating. That sounds wrong, but it's a big part of what we're talking about. Procrastination. At least, I think it is. I don't know anything about science.

There Wasn't the Way
I've decided to go all-natural on one aspect of this year's resolution: stress-eating. I always have a little slip-up, usually around the holidays, but the holiday season is behind me, and I am holding steady on my plan to avoid stress eating.
