Suddenly Fly an Owl over My Head!

I'm walking alone and everything was silent. Suddenly, I heard something just move over my head. After a few moments, I have realized that it's an owl!
It looked like a small bird. I decided to sit down at a bench nearby where I felt safe.
The small owl was still there.
It had eyes all around and looked very active.
I wanted to know what it was doing there.
I kept thinking that maybe it was looking for something.
After a few minutes, it began to walk slowly and quietly back to the woods. I felt an emotion similar to what I had felt when I had met the crab.
It was just great! I wanted to tell someone about it, but I was alone, and I didn't want to have to explain why I was walking alone and what I had seen. I felt very sorry for it. When I was younger, I had worked for the National Park Service.
We would camp in the summer.
We would wake up in the night to see an owl flying around.
This owl was very old because it had an extremely long wingspan.
We would talk about why it would fly that far if it didn't have something to catch a meal.
I would talk to the owl, and it would sit for a few moments and take a few steps before taking off.
If it was very tired, it would take a few steps and slowly fly to a branch or some other place where it felt safe.
It was amazing to me that an owl would do that. I just wish I had asked it why it did that.
I am always in awe of the owl's willingness to have this conversation with me. This has changed my life.
To have a little owl on a bench wondering where it can find its dinner is wonderful! I looked up owls and I learned so much from the bird.
To me, it is as alive and important as my own life is.
Owls live in the cold and nighttime.
This makes them alert and ready to learn.
Their eyes are more acute, and they can watch their surroundings for very long periods.
It additionally makes them very hard to catch.
Because their eyes are very "sharp", owls can see things that are outside the range of human sight.
An owl can see in complete darkness.
They can recognize the faces of other animals.
I wonder why an owl would go posted by
I wanted to go to the SPCA to help myself and also to get the dogs together with the animals that are there.
Furthermore, I had to admit that I do not have a relationship with most of these animals.
When I take them to the SPCA, they are "held" for me by the workers there.
Many of the animals do not like anyone or anything.
When I arrive, they are quite agitated and most of them run away from me.
Even the dogs that I know well do not like me.
I can be alone in my car for ten minutes, and they know that I'm going to go get them and bring them to me. This is not a good relationship for me.
The staff at the SPCA can tell when I don't like the animals, and then they are quite tense when I arrive.
Sometimes, I feel like a peeping tom there.
I want the animals to be happy.
I want them to have a forever home and a family that loves them. My heart is with all of them. I visited a great program in West Virginia called the New Journey Animal Shelter.
This shelter is in a rural area with acres of land.
This is where I could learn about working with and for animals.
They have a variety of animals from dogs to cats, but they are not just a place for lost pets.
It is also a place where abused animals and animals that have been found injured can be cared for.
This was very enlightening and eye-opening to me. The first night there, I got to walk around with the dog that needed to be rescued.
She was a little pup.
When I told the dog's caretaker, "She's a doll!" she got very upset.
"She will bite."...
