A Girl At A Bus Stop
This happened as a teenager in the mid seventies. I was driving home from a night in Garstang and was coming through Broughton and noticed a girl I knew at a bus stop. I stopped the car and got out and ran up to give her a big hug from behind, saying โHiโ . It was ten thirty at night , there were street lights and two pubs , one The Golden Ball close by.

Building Our Vocal Friends Up
Iโve seen a lot on Vocal of people complaining about lots of things to the point of verbally fighting online, though it seems to have calmed down. Maybe those at odds are avoiding each other or have learned to live with their differences.

Good As You On Vocal And Everywhere
I was looking through the Vocal communities and noticed the most unsubscribed one was Pride , 388 stories from 297 contributors. Now it may be a relatively new community, but if we look at others , contributors are in their thousands.

Walking Together
For a lovely New York friend, we share a lot of interests including swapping videos of our walks, me in Newcastle and she in New York. Things like this give you things to remember so I will share Shambeko Say Wah!โs gorgeous โRememberโ to lead this piece. Hope you enjoy this.

The Cinnamon Spell
This sonnet is a tribute to a very good friend who may or may not reveal herself. The poem is personal to her and the song has got to be Donovan Leitchโs โSeason of The Witchโ covered by hundreds of other people, but we will stick with the original.

You're My Best Friend
I recently had some , to use Orwellian parlance , doublenotgood news, but I am in a very good place. Much of this is due to the support and love I have received from all my friends and family and I always have a positive attitude.

Should I Read or Should I Go?(and Write)
I get drawn into reading stories on Vocal. This probably affects my normal book reading Right I'm just actually going to try and do this by talking into it. I do like writing and at the moment have got 7 pieces in train on here.

Without You
This is one for my magical wonderful Muse, with a wonderful Nick Drake song to lead on ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ Without you I donโt know where I would be You help me out of my starless darkness With You , You will always help me to see The light of inspiration from my , such brightness ๐ Without You I would be so lost at sea A sailor , no compass, and Shipwreck Bound When we talk , my thoughts are suddenly free And all that was fragile , suddenly sound ๐ It makes me happy to give you a smile To warm your heart and to hold hands with you Our minds are together to wander while We explore lands and seas to find anew ๐ Without You I was lost, with You Iโm found You give me purpose and You make me see New paths to travel, new stories and sounds You comfort and love me, set my mind free ๐ These are the small things I cannot believe That you found me and love me, Happiness Is what we have, inspire tales I can weave To praise your love beautiful sorceress ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ

A Perfect Storm
This week I had an absolutely awful day mentally. One day I was chatting with friends and Vocal friends on Facebook , working and chatting with work colleagues then my Friend Krista asked me for help moving a table so I had a couple of hours with her and her friends , and for the first time in my life actually went into the Byker Wall.

Home
A very short poem about how I see the concept of home and how it should provide a virtual sanctuary away from the pressures of life outside that bubble. With the lockdowns and covid that has become even more important for us to deal with the pressures of life.
