The Shower
On Board He was down on his luck and saw an advert in the paper. It was to take part in a trial which would involve being monitored on a two week Caribbean cruise. A suit and wardrobe would be provided on the cruise so he would fit in with the clientele and not be noticed by them. He had to follow certain patterns but nothing too rigorous.

In The Dark
He had been in bed for what seemed like weeks. He did not have the radio turned on and had left the curtains closed, it was winter so it was cold and dark. He was fighting bad ‘flu’ with what medication he had in the house and hot drinks plus cups of soup, but every day he felt either worse or certainly not better.

This Vicious Sky
This is an entry for the Vocal Improbable Paradise Challenge which you can read about below. The Fight They were on a tropical booze cruise somewhere in the Indian Ocean. They had won their tickets in a London Football Club draw, A: was a white racist West Ham supporter and B: was a Somalian Leyton Orient supporting thug who hated whites and West Ham supporters. There could not be two more undeserving benefactors of goodwill but life goes like that quite often.

Here's A Thing
Introduction This is Fiction. There is Nothing Wrong. This is made up. I thought I would write a poem, but that would be too much, so I will do it as a fictional story or situation, and just leave you guessing on the outcome, if there is one, and you know with my writing that sometimes there isn’t. Also, this may go off in random directions like Bob Dylans’s “TaraNtula” (yeah it has a capital “N” in there, that wasn’t a typo on my part) and that inspired me to write a book called MiTaraNtula but that was pre Vocal and is still lying in wait and may one day resurface.

When Everything Stopped Working
In Darkness Waiting for sunrise. I never expected to be in this position. There used to be civilization, however flawed it might have been, but now there is nothing. I’m here in this derelict hut on the side of a hill somewhere in what used to be known as the Lake District.

Artificial Intelligence Decides A Vocal Top Story
Introduction This a complete fiction but I sometimes wonder how artificial intelligence can be used to make objective decisions on certain things. Even as I write this piece of fiction draft using Google Docs there is a basic Artificial Intelligence running behind me, correcting my spelling, suggesting that my grammar is not correct and putting forward possible alternatives and sometimes getting it completely wrong. The intelligence doing that is called Grammarly and at times it can be really annoying but it is more than worth putting up with to help me produce something that is at least half way readable by my audience. There is also the Google Docs checker that also tries to put me right and between these two you might get something without too many spelling and grammatical mistakes.

Locked Out
This is for the "Reset Your Password" Vocal Challenge which you can read about below. Obviously, the challenge is just a prompt for me as I have been told my writing is not good enough for Vocal Challenges but what the hell, I know I can write if others refuse to see my worth.

XVAR
Introduction The letters “VAXR” came into my head and I thought how could that be a story? I then rearranged them to “XVAR” because I thought that VAXR was close to Vaxxer and that might cause ructions with COVID anti-vaxxers. However, I think everyone who can be safely vaccinated should be vaccinated, I know so many people who have been affected by and frightened by the effects of COVID that I believe I should do everything I can to stop the spread of the virus, but that is way off the target of this piece of fiction. However, the end could be the same.
