One Hit Wonders
Music: it can move you and it can make you move. From happiness to sadness, fear to calm, it is a constant in most of our lives, be it listening in the car, getting pumped up during a workout, or the soundtrack to a movie or show. Most of us will excitedly play songs for family and friends, trying to share a new favorite or deep lyrical content… but then there are the ones we don’t share. The one-hit wonders that are quickly forgotten about and left deep in the recesses of our mind or hidden for us to jam out with in the car. Some of these are really great, some are not. I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t have that money floating around, and neither do my parents. The Business of Being Mentally Ill
“It’s all in your head," “Stop worrying," “I wish I had OCD, my house would be spotless," “You don’t LOOK sick." Those of us with mental illnesses have heard these, and various iterations so many times that for the most part, we can block them out. Mental illness IS in fact in our heads, therein lies the problem. If people can’t see it, they assume it isn’t real. Unlike illnesses that are widely accepted and have outward symptoms such as cancer, colds, broken bones, and such, you can’t see a mental illness unless it has taken hold and caused you to leave marks. There are no outward bruises or tubes and wires, just an ongoing battle in your head.

Cooking Gadgets You Didn't Know You Needed
I love cooking. I love the feeling of taking separate items and making a meal to feed to others, the warm feeling of knowing I have taken care of family and friends, and the act in itself calms me. As I have grown as a cook I have come across several items on Amazon that have been amazing in prep and cook times. Some may not be needed, but they sure are handy! In addition, all of these items are under $10, making them easily accessible by everyone and within a reasonable price range. These would be fantastic for the cook in your life as affordable gifts with the holiday season rapidly approaching. I will post links to some of these. Sometimes Life Throws Grenades
Sometimes instead of lemons, life throws grenades. Miscarriage is never pretty. A miscarriage, for all intents, is losing a baby that never was. Most are lost before 12 weeks, with most happening between 4 and 6 weeks. Life is more than a miracle than people realize with so many miscarriages being missed as the woman never realized she was pregnant. I have been through three. I can tell you that it is not a lemon life throws at you, it is a grenade. It shatters you in ways you didn't know you could shatter. It is not JUST the loss of an embryo, it is the loss of your child. It is all of the Christmases, and Halloweens, and every single milestone that that child will never reach. The first word, first steps and high school graduations are all taken from you in an instant.
