I'm sure that everyone here has an awkward childhood story to tell. Here's mine. I was exceptionally small as a child so teachers made me sit in front. No one wanted to be my partner because they were afraid that other classmates would make fun of them.

Fork in the Road
Some years ago, the decision of having to euthanize my ever-present Schnauzer companion confronted me. It was a decision between keeping her alive but watching her suffer from liver disease or easing her pain but losing a dear friend of 14 years.

Prologue In days of old in Southeast Asia, a kampong was a village of largely makeshift houses consisting of zinc roofs and other materials people could use to construct their homes. Such villages were common all over South East Asia, and each had a thriving community spirit. This one, perhaps, had one that thrived a little too well.
