19 Amazing Shortcuts You Aren't Using
[Applause] you know we all have that one friend or co-worker whose computer skills make us feel like a neanderthal they barely touch the mouse their screen lights up with all kinds of tasks and boxes and their fingers go lightning fast on that keyboard they even have time to casually chat with siri or cortana and stream games afterwards but this is no sorcery your friend is simply a whiz when it comes to hotkeys and you can be too let's start with a skill every computer maestro needs to know number one create a virtual desktop imagine you're in the middle of some work project or research you've been doing all day when you need to deal with another task immediately opening new tabs in windows will just slow you down and mess up your workflow so you need a new clean desktop well just press the windows key plus control plus d or control plus up if you use a mac it'll switch to a new fresh desktop and you're ready to go [Music] number two switch between virtual desktops okay but where is all that precious work you were doing before is it gone forever ah don't panic it's just hiding to get it back push the windows key plus control or the control key on a mac now you can switch between all the virtual desktops you've made by using the left and right arrow keys [Music] when you're done with the second task ensure you no longer need that desktop you can close it by pressing the windows key plus control plus f4 on a mac hold down the option key and click on the x signs that appear over any open desktop spaces to close them [Music] number three return to the desktop from apps if you have too many apps open and you need to use another one hidden behind all those windows on your desktop you don't need to minimize them all one by one you can minimize all of them at once by pushing the windows key plus m you can also take a peek at your desktop with the windows key plus comma or command plus f3 for os this is a handy little trick if you work with information from desktop widgets or if you really need to take a break for a second and look at the fluffy kittens or fields of calming green grass you use as your desktop wallpaper ah [Music] number four open an app from the taskbar if you want much faster access to your most used apps consider keeping them on your taskbar it'll speed up your workflow even more if you use the following combination the windows key plus a number key from one deny each number represents an app in your taskbar from the left to right and this combo will bring up the necessary one unfortunately there's no similar hotkey for os but i'm pretty sure mac users are quite content with the mac's awesome app navigation number five split screen between two apps want to see a magic trick try this open one app that you need for your work and press the windows key plus left arrow then open another app and click the windows key plus right arrow now two windows are sharing your screen checking facts in your academic work while looking directly at your sources no problem photoshopping while watching bright side videos easy peasy number six switch apps there are several ways to effectively shift from one app to another and to manage them on your desktop using hotkeys pressing control plus alt plus tab will show you all the apps currently running on your pc again mac is known for rocking the app navigation game so it's a bit easier on os it's just control plus tab another way to open the task view press the windows key plus tab this is the pc equivalent to the max mission control it provides a broader view of open windows and available desktops and is much more convenient to use and finally there's the hotkey alt plus tab or command plus tab on a mac that will allow you to swap programs without previously displaying them like a deck of cards if you work with just a couple of windows at once this one's for you [Music] number seven program management and troubleshooting let's go shoot us some trouble now listen carefully because you'll want to remember this one everyone's been there one program is stuck and won't process anything even if you cry beg or try to bribe it to do so to avoid restarting your device and losing all your progress try using the following combo control plus shift plus escape or command plus option plus escape if you're working on a mac it'll open the task manager which will help you force quit any malfunctioning app or stop the ones that aren't responding losing some data from one faulty program is not the same as losing all your data from all of them [Music] number eight open file explorer not all your apps need to be on hand all the time for you to work faster some of them are standard programs built into your computer and there's a quick and convenient way to access them pressing the windows key plus e opens the file manager window on your pc for mac users this is your finder app [Music] 9. use the magnifier ever dreamed of becoming one of those tv detectives that can find anything on any picture no matter how tiny the image is enhance the image i need 10x zoom yeah you can totally do that on your computer the windows key combined with the plus or minus key will open the magnifier app which allows you to zoom in and out wherever you point your cursor the same goes for mac os but you need to use the combination of all command and plus to zoom just don't expect to be catching any criminals from the tiny inverted reflection bouncing off an earring or something [Applause] number 10 take screenshots oh you found that tiny evidence well you better collect it use the windows key plus print screen to take a screenshot and immediately save it in the image folder on your hard drive mac also lets you take screenshots by pressing command plus shift plus three but for you it gets even cooler if you push four instead of three you'll be able to choose what part of your desktop you want to snap a picture of or even take a screenshot of only one exact window number 11 use action center [Music] set up bluetooth connect with devices in your network use your pc as a wi-fi hotspot turn notifications on and off those and many other functions and newer versions of windows are available in one place called action center to open it simultaneously press the window key plus a for mac users your notification center is always a click away in the top right hand corner [Music] 12. access the settings if you need more tweaking or access to more advanced parameters of your pc you can have it all use the windows key plus i to do just that [Music] 13. talk to cortana or siri task managers thorough researchers life organizers interesting conversation partners nowadays computers come with a personal assistant literally built in siri and cortana can do it all and you can call them up with just one touch to open cortana on windows in listening mode press the windows key plus c and to summon siri on mac os hold command and space together hey siri [Applause] 14. use the windows game bar so you've been working hard all day bringing up these desktops and whatnot you come home and it's time to relax to a nice gaming sesh and here it comes that exciting moment when you finally beat that insane boss fight or you and your friends had a hilarious exchange or epic battle in the online game you're playing together ah if only you could capture that moment forever well actually you have everything you need right in the game bar feature on your pc you can bring it up at any time by pressing the windows key plus g to set up recording manually but that's not all game bar itself has a hotkey for starting and stopping recording just press windows plus alt plus r you can even start streaming by pushing the windows key plus alt plus b mac os also has its own feature for capturing videos and it's really simple to use press shift plus command plus 5 to record the screen using quicktime player [Music] 15. lock down your pc let's say you share a computer with your family or co-workers and you've spent all day looking for the perfect gift for your mom or slacking off at work and you don't want anyone to know about it if you suddenly need to step away from the computer but you don't want anyone meddling in your stuff you can quickly lock your user profile [Music] simply push the windows key plus l or shift plus command plus q on a mac just make sure you set up your password first and don't forget it pretty cool huh [Music] hey which hotkeys make your time on the computer smoother and faster let everybody know down in the comments be sure to give this video a like share it with your friends and click subscribe to always stay on the bright side of life you

13 Jobs That Are Definitely Scarier Than Yours
when we think about dangerous jobs what comes to mind are firefighters and police officers but I'll tell you about other unexpectedly dangerous professions out there these people do the work not many are willing to take the risk for so this is a shout out for them the first profession truly deserves a reward for selflessness these people are sewage divers and it's a very important but also dangerous job towns and cities have extremely complicated sewage systems and even a little blockage can cause all waste to flow back into the streets and homes so sewage systems are very closely monitored and sewage divers are the very people who are responsible for dealing with blockages as fast as possible to prevent disastrous consequences sewage divers wear a dry suit and special boots they have to stay in the Water full of all kinds of waste bacteria and other nasty stuff a sewage diver gets to the blockage and removes it since the water is contaminated any cut even the smallest one can cause an infection so these Specialists must be very careful this job can be so tremendously dangerous that it's even banned in many countries a storm chaser is a very cool name for a profession which is also very dangerous these people conduct meteorological research right in the field reporting storms tornadoes tsunamis and Other Extreme weather conditions they collect information on weather patterns these patterns are later studied which helps make better forecasts and reduce damage these Specialists take photos and videos of storms to see how they form and learn more about them power line workers are people who are responsible for installing and maintaining electric power lines and it's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world there are two factors contributing to it height and high voltage electricity one of the most dangerous aspects of a line worker's job is power recovery after a storm the next profession is a sulfur Miner sulfur is a pale yellow odorless chemical element it's used in agriculture to control pests and fungus as well as in the production of matches and fireworks sulfur is often used in medicine too so some people's job is to mine it sulfur is typically found in volcanic regions that's why volcanoes are the main workplace of sulfur miners they break off sulfur from the crater floor crumble it into smaller pieces collect them and then carry the substance to a nearby town not only is it hard work in itself but it's also dangerous the fumes and gases that are produced in the process can cause respiratory and dental problems also some miners are located inside active volcanoes and a sudden eruption is another potential Danger mining is a dangerous job overall and I'll tell you about another kind Limestone mining limestone is a material that's widely used in Road and building construction so you can imagine the demand for it by the way even the Great Pyramids of Giza were made from this material so people have been using it for thousands of years Limestone mining isn't an easy job the process creates clouds of dust and breathing this dust in isn't healthy also the dust rises in the air which is very dangerous considering that people use Sharp Tools to break limestone rocks you probably wouldn't think so but trash and recycling collectors are doing one of the most dangerous jobs too one collector has shared that even if you do the same job every day for years you can't let your guard down they have to be especially careful when they get out of the truck and go to the trash can there's a cable that raises the container and a mistake can break it and cause accidents the next dangerous job is that of an underwater welder dry welding or welding on the shore is usually simpler since there's no pressure and the welding process can be controlled better that's why it's the preferable type of welding but sometimes performing it can be too expensive say something that should be fixed in a ship's Hall is located under water to perform dry welding the ship will have to be pulled out and it's a lot of money and trouble so underwater welding it is there are two types of underwater welding dry welding and wet welding in dry welding they use a hyperbaric chamber which they seal around the spot that needs to be welded the chamber gets filled with gas to get rid of all the water inside and prevent more water from pouring in then the process is performed almost as if it wasn't going on underwater but sometimes the chamber isn't available or the welding should be done immediately in these instances wet welding is performed pure water doesn't conduct electricity but most kinds of water tap water rainwater and of course seawater contain numerous minerals and impurities and those make water a great conductor of electricity to make this process safer gaseous bubbles are released around an electric Arc they Shield the Weld and protect the Diver by ensuring that electricity isn't conducted through the water the problem with the bubbles though is that they obscure the welding area so it's harder to see and perform this process deep sea fishing is also on the list not all fish swim close to the shore or in Shallow Waters tuna swordfish and Marlin are just a few of the species that swim deep underwater deep sea fishing is Everything 100 feet underwater and deeper it also happens far away from the shore such a big distance is one of the reasons why deep sea fishing is dangerous in case of an accident you're too far away from any professional medical help also fish that swim in the deep sea are larger faster and stronger so that kind of fishing is way more dangerous than shallow fishing the Open Sea is also way more unpredictable than the sea close to the shore so that's another Factor now let's talk about logging logging workers provide raw materials for different Industries it's a very demanding and dangerous job in the early days people took down trees manually these days they use Machinery but it doesn't make their job any less dangerous trees still fall and now there are also sharp chainsaws that are constantly working also people are outside at all times and they have to be alert checking their surroundings for all possible hazards and danger can come from anywhere another dangerous profession is of course construction workers they have to deal with great height ladders machinery and heavy weights so construction workers should never let their guard down at work too roofers are people who install roofs and repair and maintain them they also use such materials as metal and asphalt to make roofs waterproof they're at risk too since they spend their days at Big Heights by the way there are also professional roof cleaners the roof should be taken care of every once in a while it needs to be cleaned from moss and fungus and there are people who will do it for you there are also industrial alpinists they're people who climb buildings reaching where regular people can't reach they take care of buildings facades cleaning and painting them and even making them waterproof they also do other kinds of required maintenance to protect buildings from gases industrial dust and other damaging factors Farmers risk their lives every day too farming is way more than milking cows and watering plants it also means working with heavy machinery and chemicals tractors are quite challenging to maneuver and they can easily roll over farm equipment is also dangerous because it's often very sharp farmers use a lot of chemicals to protect crops and keep Machinery clean chemicals often spread over large areas making the air around toxic there are even more potentially dangerous things but let's finish it with animals cows and horses are big heavy and can act unpredictably so it's another Potential Threat [Music] that's it for today so hey if you pacified your curiosity then give the video a like and share it with your friends or if you want more just click on these videos and stay on the bright side

What If the World Were a Single Person
ever wondered how people all around the world spend their precious 24 hours each day well you're about to find out time is like a Common Thread that connects us all no matter where we're from we all have the same 24 hours to work with but people from different countries and cultures spend it very differently but imagine if the entire world were one person what would their day look like that's the question that Canadian researchers aim to answer they wanted to know what the average human's day looks like all around the world they collected surveys from over 130 countries looking at surveys conducted from 2000 to 2019 anyway researchers comeb through surveys about people's daily routines and even gathered information about jobs and economic activities so what are your theories do you think it's going to be a boring work sleep repeat cycle surprisingly not at all in reality it turns out that we spend more than a third of our time on things that make us feel good and keep us healthy research your simplified time into four categories to make it super easy to understand first up we have sleep and bed rest there's nothing particularly surprising here an average adult sleeps about 9 hours a day we know that this is a norm for healthy sleep but if you think about it it turns out that sleep takes up a huge chunk of our day it's a bit sad that we need it so much just imagine imagine how many things we could have gotten done if we didn't next we have direct human outcomes this category covers things that directly affect us as individuals it includes activities like eating hanging out with friends taking care of ourselves and having fun you know all the stuff that makes us feel good and not only that these activities include everything from working education and personal growth to socializing and watching TV the researchers discovered that we dedicate just over 9 hours each day to these things in this magical 9.4 hours of our day we do so many cool things we take care of ourselves and others through hygiene and grooming we also spend time on health care including looking after our own well-being and taking care of our loved ones work schooling academic and private sector research exercising socializing meals hobbies and even engaging with the media are all part of this awesome mix now let's breing it down even further about half of this time which is about 4.6 hours is spent on passive interactive and social activities think of catching up with friends or reading a fantastic book Wahoo for fun times eating delicious meals takes up around 1.6 hours it's essential to fuel our bodies and enjoy the wonders of food school and research add another 1.1 hours to the mix because learning never stops and here's an interesting TST certain activities seem to be Universal regardless of a country's wealth hygiene and grooming as well as meal times remain consistent across low-income and high income countries well it makes sense if you think about it our basic necessities bring us all together no matter where we're from but it's still pretty cool of course keep in mind that there are variations between individuals and cultures everyone has their unique way of spending time but when we zoom out out and look at the big picture globally these activities stay pretty consistent next on the list we have organizational outcomes this is all about being productive and getting things done it includes tasks like working studying organizing and managing our lives basically it's all the stuff we do to keep our lives running smoothly now let's break it down organizational outcomes include everyday activities like grocery shopping getting from one place to another paying bills accessing government services and handling all kinds of administrative stuff as well as travel and administration it's the nitty-gritty of managing our lives and taking care of practical matters in our average human day we spend just over 2 hours on these important tasks now here's an interesting twist despite the diversity of countries and cultures around the world commuting times seem to be remarkably similar we might have expected significant variation s but the research team discovered that commuting times are remarkably Universal so on average we spend about one hour each day moving from one place to another this finding has caught their attention further research is already underway to dig deeper into this fascinating aspect of Our Lives the mysteries of travel and its impact on our daily routines are being unraveled as we speak and seems like even though these activities may seem mundane they play a crucial role in keeping our lives running smoothly and lastly we have external outcomes this category is about things we do that affect the world around us it includes activities like commuting participating in the economy and being part of the bigger picture in other words these are the activities that aim to create changes in the world outside of ourselves now here are some examples agriculture and fishing preparing and serving food mining working with Lumber tapping into fossil fuels and renewable energy constructing and maintaining buildings and infrastructure keeping our living spaces clean tending to our pets and Gardens and managing waste it's a whole bunch of stuff that affects the world around us so how much time do you think you devote to this every day well research shows that in our daily lives we spend a whopping 3.4 hours on these tasks here's where things get interesting these activities reveal some salient differences between low income and high income countries in the lowest income countries people spend an average of over 1.5 hours each day growing and collecting their own food it's a massive amount of human labor required to meet their food needs but as countries become wealthier and more advanced things change in the highest income countries farming is accomplished in less than 5 minutes per day on average can you believe it the wonders of technology and mechanization free up over an hour of time so let's appreciate the challenging work that goes into providing food raw materials construction and other similar tasks this data also shows us that as we progress and become more industrialized we gain precious hours in our day we have more time to explore create and enjoy the world around us time becomes our Ally allowing us to pursue other passions and Adventures so here's what an average human's day looks like they spend 9 hours sleeping around 9.5 hours on things that are important and fun to them around 2 hours organizing stuff and around 3.5 hours affecting the bigger world around them pretty cool isn't it how does it compare to your daily routine by the way when researchers began their study they started with Australia and New Zealand and got some surprising results for example austral brilliant love to socialize on average they spend about 5 hours each day engaging with people and enjoying various activities that's slightly above the global average they have a knack for going out exploring museums watching sports and simply hanging out with their friends it's all part of our social fabric interestingly this trend of social activities aligning with GDP holds true not only for Australia but globally as well the studies lead on author highlights that the activities we humans engage in and the time we spend on these activities shape our societies and personal wellbeing it's remarkable how the universal notion of time allows us to compare ourselves with people around the world and across different time periods from sleep to socializing we've learned some interesting insights about the average human day worldwide and how it compares to life in Australia remember time is precious so choose how you spend it wisely whether you're catching some z's or enjoying quality time with friends make the most of each moment stay curious keep exploring and embrace the wonderful tapestry of activities that make up our daily lives that's it for today so hey if you pacified your curiosity then give the video a like and share it with your friends or if you want more just click on these videos and stay on the bright side

If You See This, Run Fast and Ask for Help!
if you see these run fast and ask for help there are so many different animals in the world that nobody even knows the exact number of existing species some of them are beautiful and some are ugly however not everything is as it seems because the ugly ones may be safe and the beautiful ones can be deadly or not [Music] for example this caterpillar looks like somebody dropped their wig by accident it's not very big but it's very hairy you might think that because it's hairy it's tender to touch but don't let that fool you in fact if you touch the hairs they will penetrate your skin and sting you wow that doesn't seem fair now does it according to the experience of other people the pain is unimaginably bad so stay away from this caterpillar if you can however if you get stumped doctors recommend washing the area use soap and water but be very careful not to press the spot because this will make the poison spread faster after you finish washing the sting put some ice on it to reduce the pain if the pain doesn't go away within the next 30 minutes or so go to the hospital immediately we think caterpillar pus looks too gross to touch it and we hope you agree with us [Music] now we're going to tell you about 12 other animals that you should run from as fast as you can if you ever encounter them in the wild counting down from number 12 death stalker well the name says it all this is the deadliest scorpion of all to give you some perspective the death stalker is responsible for 75 of all victims of scorpion attacks usually it doesn't kill healthy adults they only feel terrible pain but it can easily kill children if they are stung they have a fever coma and finally they can't breathe because the lungs are filled with fluids if this kind of scorpion still doesn't seem awful enough to you how do you like this they can demonstrate cannibalistic behavior if they can't find other food they can also eat snakes if they win the fight the only way to survive being stung by this scorpion is to go to the hospital immediately isn't this fun number 11. carpet viper here comes another champion carpet viper is considered to be the deadliest snake because it kills the biggest number of people yearly the way it kills is really curious in an awful way it injects some toxin into the blood of the victim this toxin doesn't let the blood clot so the victim just bleeds to death number 10 cone snail now this snail is so dangerous that one drop of its venom is more than enough to end 20 human lives the worst thing about it is there is no cure or some kind of antidote if it stings you you are dead whatever you do it is also known as the cigarette snail because its poison kills you as fast as it takes you to finish one cigarette hopefully you don't smoke so that you'll have time for something more important number nine stonefish this thing looks like a stone see now there are two things you need to know about this fish first if you confuse it with a rock and step on its spikes it will poison you and you will lose your leg that's actually the best case scenario the stonefish is very economical it injects the amount of poison proportional to the pressing weight the second thing is it takes the stonefish just 0.15 seconds to react to a moving object another fish or your leg to open its mouth and bite it so losing a leg is really possible so watch your step whenever you are in the ocean number eight africanized honeybee this kind of bee is very different from all others because africanized honeybees are actually a result of an experiment a brazilian man was trying to make a new breed of bees and actually let them out so these bees are more aggressive than regular bees maybe because they know they were genetically engineered and are pissed off about it and they can chase their victims for very long distances their poison is not more dangerous than the one that normally more friendly bees have but if you get stung by a large number of them you should see a doctor anyway number 7 brazilian wandering spider because they don't have gps do you know why the most venomous spider in the world is called wandering spider the thing is that unlike other spiders it is often found in places full of people especially in the daytime you can find them in houses or even in cars now we wonder how ron weasley would react to such news number 6. black mamba you may have heard about this snake its name is pretty popular quentin tarantino gave this code name to the main character and kill bill now this snake is known as the most aggressive snake of all you know usually experts say that when you see a snake the best course of action is to move away from the snake as slowly as you can otherwise it might think you are a threat and attack you which is probably the last thing you want to happen however black mamba is very different it can attack you even without provocation some people think that it kind of enjoys it anyways if it bites a person and he or she doesn't get an antidote in the next 30 to 50 minutes they will die the poison shuts down the nervous system and paralyzes the victim number five poison dart frog if this frog looks beautiful it's hard to deny that however don't let this beauty deceive you this frog doesn't even need to bite you to poison you it has poison on its skin you see this is how it works in nature whatever is the brightest is the most dangerous never touch or even come close to something you want to touch in the wild including the dart frog oh isn't he pretty let's just touch it see that doesn't work does it number four tt fly this fly is not venomous or anything like that however it's still very dangerous otherwise it wouldn't end up on this list first of all it sucks blood like a mosquito which is gross enough as it is but the worst thing it can do is transmit african sleeping sickness which kills around 250 000 people every year number three in our cavalcade of killer critters is the blue ringed octopus this octopus is tiny but as you might have guessed really deadly it kills its victims in a very cruel way it bites the victim and injects a poison into the bloodstream after that the victim gets paralyzed within a few minutes which of course means they can't breathe the only way to help a person in this case is to start artificial respiration and continue to do it for the next few hours until the effect of the poison wears down number 2. komodo dragon these guys are really good hunters they can wait for their prey in a hideout for a long time after they detect the prey they chase it eat out the throat and wait till the victim bleeds to death most humans are lucky because komodo dragons live mostly in places where humans don't and they don't need to eat very often well that's a good thing and number one the most dangerous varmint out there according to our list box jellyfish this is the most dangerous living thing on earth after mosquitoes that transmit malaria of course its venom kills so fast there is nothing you can do just to be safe avoid all jellyfish that you see while swimming on the ocean or the sea boy it makes you just want to go to the beach now doesn't it anyway we decided not to tell you what to do if any of the described species attacks you in their own way for only one reason the only thing you can do is go to the hospital immediately even if you don't think that whatever attacked you is dangerous for your health see a doctor you know better safe than sorry otherwise the only surefire way to never meet up with any of these critters is never leave home

7 Riddles That Will Test Your Brain Power
hey you're gonna like this one seven riddles that will test your brain power [Music] our brain is a mysterious thing we know more about stars than about the things inside our heads but what we do know about the brain is that it gets less sharp and productive with age would you say never mind do you want to test your brain power and calculate its approximate age watch this video till the end to find out the results you have a maximum of 20 seconds for each task but try to answer the questions as fast as possible counting down here's test number seven take a very close look at these two photographs what is the mistake they have in common [Music] if you still can't figure it out let's turn the photos upside down it looks horrible right the eyes and lips of both women are upside down but your brain doesn't recognize that immediately the thing is the brain is not used to seeing eyes and lips in that position there is another interesting experiment some people can turn their tongues upside down hit the like button if you were one of them if you can do it and touch the left side of your tongue it will sense the touch from the opposite side because evolution never taught the brain to read the sensations on the tongue in that position [Music] test number six how many holes does this t-shirt have what mine oh oh the one on the screen never mind [Music] [Music] the question doesn't specify which holes exactly so the right answer is eight they are the neckline two sleeves the bottom of the t-shirt and four holes in the middle two in the front and two in the back because we can see the background through them [Music] test number five how would you name this tree [Music] [Music] write the names that came to your mind in the comment section below but the actual challenge was to notice the camouflaged bird on the tree if you did well done [Music] test number four can you manage this one in five seconds i'll give you 20 seconds but try to solve it as fast as possible [Music] [Music] the mistake is not in the numbers or their colors the mistake is that the word spot appears twice your brain doesn't always show you the reality it often shows what it is used to there are many short texts on the internet that have repeating words that most people don't notice until they finish the text and read the description if you have bad eyes you might have noticed that things most often words you couldn't see from a distance become clearer when somebody tells you what's written there it's not that your eyes became better it's your brain completes the picture [Music] test number three do you see a hidden baby that's not mine either [Music] if you follow the thin branches of the tree you will see the outline of a baby in the fetal position its feet and toes are on the right side of the picture arms are in the middle and head is on the left uh one more thing it's good that he doesn't have teeth because his bark is better than his bite [Music] test number two which line is longer [Music] of course line a is longer it's so obvious right well not for everybody or rather not always there was a research on conformity that looked like this five people were asked which of two lines was longer the answer was always simple but four of the tested people were asked to lie so technically there was only one real subject the people lied very convincingly so the subject didn't want to stand out and gave the wrong answer the same phenomenon can be illustrated with jokes if you're in a group of people and somebody tells a joke that everybody finds funny you will laugh too even if you don't get it or don't think it's funny well maybe not you but approximately 75 percent of people do so of course everybody laughs at my jokes right liars alright test number one [Music] can you spot mike wazowski [Music] there he is green but still very different now let's talk about your results if it took you more than 20 seconds to answer each question or you didn't manage all the tasks it means that you have the brain of a mature person it's hard for you to make your mind see beyond the obvious and you can't handle change easily wow if it took you less than 20 seconds your brain is quite young and you can approach tasks from different angles if you answer each question correctly in less than five seconds your brain is very young and flexible you can notice the tiniest details right away and adapt to new situations easily as for those of us with mature brains hey don't worry as the saying goes you're only young once but you can be immature forever so what

Are We Alone In The Galaxy?
are we alone in the universe this question has been in the minds of scientists for centuries capturing the imagination of people everywhere and driving countless other questions of the unknown many scientists believe that Earth isn't the only place in the UN Universe to host life but considering just how big the universe is with an estimated 2 trillion galaxies perhaps then a better question is are we alone in the Milky Way according to a new study published in the astrophysical journal researchers from the University of Nottingham suggest that the Milky Way galaxy is home to 36 communicating intelligent alien civilizations but how did they arrive at this very specific number they say the estimate is actually conservative and it's based on the assumption that intelligent alien life forms on other planets in a similar way to how it does on Earth the scientists assume that Earth is not special if we imagine a planet much like ours orbiting a star like our sun hosting a civilization that develops technologically in a similar way to humans and under the assumption that it takes 5 billion years for intelligence life to form then there would be at least 36 earthlike civilizations in our galaxy previous calculations of alien life have been based on the Drake equation which includes seven factors needed to find the number of intelligent civilizations but the estimates have been extremely broad ranging from zero to a few billion civilizations with this new method the researchers refined the equation using new data and assumptions they found that there are ly between 4 and 21 civilizations with 36 the most likely number however finding these civilizations is another issue entirely scientists said they would be thousands of light years away but let's begin by exploring Proxima centor B the nearest exoplanet that may potentially Harbor alien life this intriguing World orbits within the habitable zone of Proxima centor the habitable zone or the goldilock zone is the region around a star where the conditions are just right for liquid water to exist on a planet's surface in this Zone the temperature is ideal neither too hot which would cause water to evaporate if the planet were too close to its star nor too cold which would cause water to freeze if the planet were too far away this temperature range offers the potential for Life as we know it to thrive Proxima centor B is very similar in size to Earth with a mass of of approximately 1.17 Earth masses this suggests it's only about 10% larger in diameter than our world the planet is likely tidily locked meaning one side of the planet always faces the star receiving constant daylight while the other side is In Perpetual Darkness there could be three distinct climate zones due to Tidal locking a hot sun-facing side a cold dark side and a potentially habitable Twilight Zone in between if alien life exists on Proxima centor B the unique conditions of being tidily locked could lead to extraordinary adaptations on the perpetually lit side life forms might have evolved to withstand continuous exposure to the Stars radiation possibly developing protective mechanisms or using the constant light to their advantage perhaps through photosynthesis like processes On the Dark Side organisms could have adapted to the extreme cold and constant Darkness possibly relying on geothermal energy or other forms of heat different from Starlight to survive now if intelligent alien life exists on Proxima centor B the implications would be astonishing first it would suggest that intelligent life is likely common throughout the Galaxy considering the Milky Way hosts an estimated 400 billion stars the odds that the only two planets with intelligent life happen to be neighbors would be astronomically low second the discovery could provide clues into the nature of space travel among extraterrestrial civilizations if these neighboring beings have not yet made contact it could indicate that even for a more advanced alien Society Interstellar travel is an even bigger challenge than we thought or it might also suggest that they are technologically less advanced than we are positioning Humanity as the potential first Interstellar visitors in this scenario we would be the aliens arriving on their planet however before we get ahead of ourselves it's crucial to remember that these ideas remain purely speculative the existence of extraterrestrial life let alone intelligent life beyond Earth has yet to be confirmed another intriguing candidate for hosting alien life is Kepler 62e a superar located about 1200 light years away and here's why this exoplanet stands out it's approximately 1.6 times the size of Earth which suggests it might have similar mass and gravity it orbits within the habitable zone of its star which is smaller and cooler than the sun creating potentially ideal conditions for liquid water there's a strong hypothesis that Kepler 62e could be a water world covered mostly or completely by oceans this could mean a variety of of Aquatic Life forms might exist there if Kepler 62e has an atmosphere it's thought to be very cloudy warm and humid extending to the polar regions if it truly is a water world this could make the development of civilization as we know it more challenging yet it does not eliminate the possibility of advanced marine organisms the concept of Life on Kepler 62e is still speculative but it's a top candidate in the search for alien in life due to these promising characteristics however its great distance from Earth means that our current technology doesn't allow us to study it in detail to confirm these possibilities Glee 667cc is another Super Earth with the potential to host alien life the planet has a radius 1.7 times that of Earth and is about 23 light years away Glee 667 cc is part of a triple star system which could mean that if you were standing on the planet you might see three suns in the sky its host star is a red dwarf with about a third as much mass as the sun as a result stars like Glee 667 C can live up to 150 billion years or 15 times longer than the sun's lifespan even if alien life does not currently exist on Glee 667cc the system's potential lifespan of one 150 billion years offers an extended window for life to emerge and evolve this prolonged period of stability far exceeds that of our own Sun providing more than enough time for complex life forms to develop at a later stage in the planet's history G 667 cc is among five other planets that orbit the red dwarf star three of which are within the habitable zone this makes this system a prime candidate for the potential of alien life however whether life actually exists there remains a mystery as we currently lack the technology to detect life at such a distance directly the study of exoplanets like Glee 667 CC helps astronomers understand the conditions under which life might arise and how common habitable worlds might be in our galaxy Kepler 22b is another fascinating alien world categorized as a super Earth and is about 2.4 times Earth's radius the planet's composition is still a matter of debate it could be covered in a vast Ocean or it might even be gaseous but if it is an ocean world it's possible that life could exist in such an environment as suggested by some scientists involved in the Kepler project the idea of an ocean world is particularly interesting because it opens the possibility of Aquatic Life forms however with a staggering distance of about 640 light years separating us from Kepler 22b it's currently beyond our reach for direct exploration using today's technology now picture an advanced alien civilization on Kepler 22b peering through sophisticated telescopes aimed at Earth what they'd be observing is our planet as it was back in the year 1384 they would see Earth's Medieval Era this delay is due to to light the fastest thing in the universe taking 640 years to travel from our world to theirs yet even as vast as 640 light years may seem it represents less than 1% of our Milky Way staggering bread of 100,000 light years so far our exploration of exoplanets has barely touched a tiny fraction of the potentially habitable worlds that might exist out there drawing on data from the kep Space Telescope estimates suggest there could be up to 300 million potentially habitable planets within our galaxy alone considering this estimating only 36 potential alien civilizations in the Milky Way seems extraordinarily conservative now let's imagine for a moment that each Galaxy hosts just one single civilization if true with the estimated 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe there would be a minimum of 2 trillion civiliz izations out there faced with these numbers it's humbling to realize that our civilization might just be a tiny Speck as viewed from the broad Cosmic perspective as we gaze out into the Stars we must ask ourselves what Legacy will We Leave Behind in this Cosmic sea of possibilities

A Missing Plane From 1955 Landed After 37 Years
do you know the feeling when you've been trying to solve one mystery for your entire life nope well detective anderson does during almost 30 years of working for the police he solved many riddles caught hundreds of robbers and helped save thousands of lives there's a huge number of successfully solved cases on his record at the age of 25 he caught a thief who changed his own face with plastic surgery once a year when anderson was 30 prisoners started breaking from jails all over the world the detective successfully solved this case at the age of 38 he discovered the secret base of a forbidden order in a volcano's mouth by his fifties he managed to explain all the most inexplicable things in the world but there was something he couldn't solve these were two mysteries from the fifties cases of missing planes all these years anderson has been scrolling through the details of this puzzle unfortunately he was too young when this story began all he had were guesses and notes but today a sudden thought struck him for the first time in many years he felt that he could finally solve this mystery but to do this he had to immerse himself in this story again so he opened the closet and pulled out two old magazines with detailed articles about these incidents the first one happened in the summer of 1955. july 1st pan am flight 914 was about to depart from new york airport with 61 people on board the plane model was a douglas dc-4 it differed from modern aircraft having giant propellers instead of turbines so all passengers fastened their seat belts the plane started taxiing down the runway sped up and took off it went high into the sky and out of sight its destination was florida the flight time would be three hours dispatching services were watching the plane on their radar when suddenly pan am 914 disappeared the operator tried to contact the pilot but received no response new york reported this to florida they said they couldn't see the plane either usually pilots notify via radio if a plane crashes or gets into a storm but this time just nothing after several unsuccessful attempts to establish the connection they deployed large-scale search operations communication with the plane was interrupted when it was flying over the atlantic ocean therefore the air company had to admit the aircraft crashed into the water but this version had no proof when planes fall that way rescuers find floating debris some parts of the cabin or luggage always get to the surface this time rescuers found nothing the plane didn't transmit any distress signals and didn't leave any traces of the crash it seemed like it just disappeared into thin air people forgot about this disaster for 37 years and then something bizarre happened 1992 venezuela caracas airport the control tower received a signal about an unknown aircraft approaching them it was weird because it wasn't supposed to be there there were no flights scheduled for that time the plane was landing the dispatcher and the rest of the airport staff understood that something was wrong here the plane looked old with huge propellers instead of turbines after landing the pilot contacted the airport where are we the dispatcher asked him to identify himself a few seconds later he received an answer we are pan am flight 914 departed from new york to florida with a crew of four people and 57 passengers on board the dispatcher didn't know what to do next he and the airport staff understood what kind of plane they were looking at what was this plane doing 37 years later and almost 1240 miles away from its destination after a few seconds the startled dispatcher turned on the microphone and said it is september 9th 1992. you know that a long pause followed then the pilot responded in a panic oh no jimmy where are we no stay away let's go now the airport staff saw the pilot waving his hands in horror through the glass then he started the engines and took the plane to the runway pan am 914 increased its speed and took off the dispatcher tried to stop him but the pilot didn't respond the plane disappeared into the sky and no one else had heard of it since that day detective anderson finished reading the article he frowned and looked out the window raindrops were hitting the glass the storm outside perfectly depicted what was happening in his mind at that moment he seemed to know what had happened to that plane all the clues were there lying right in front of his eyes but to know for sure anderson had to move on to the next case it was another article dated 1989. it happened in 1954. santiago airlines flight 513 took off from west germany airport the plane was due to land in brazil in 18 hours there were 88 passengers and four crew members on board the plane hid behind the clouds and disappeared from all radar air traffic controllers were trying to contact the pilots but didn't receive a response 18 hours later they called the airport in brazil those dispatchers couldn't confirm this plane's landing and couldn't contact the pilots either the search operation lasted for several months but they found nothing just like in the pan am 914 case the plane disappeared from radar while flying over the atlantic ocean two years later the search operation ended and santiago airlines ceased its activities october 12 1989 airport controllers in brazil noticed a passenger plane that suddenly appeared on their radar it didn't answer the airport staff's questions and just circled over the air base after a few minutes the plane landed and nothing no one opened the ramp passengers didn't get out pilots didn't respond the aircraft was in perfect condition one of the dispatchers realized that this was the missing santiago airlines flight 513 that had been considered lost for 35 years airport staff approached the plane and opened the doors what they saw there terrified them the police customs staff doctors detectives and other airport staff members gathered around the plane no one knew what to do next there was no living person on board who could tell the truth the plane disappeared in 1954 and appeared 35 years later in perfect condition without any damage so far no one has figured out what happened detective anderson noticed the stories were very similar pan am 914 disappeared in 1955. santiago airlines 513 vanished in 1954. the difference was almost a year anderson scratched his head and noticed another little detail both planes went missing from the radar the moment they were flying over the atlantic ocean there are many myths about phantom ships and mysterious phenomena connected with the bermuda triangle detective anderson knew these tales but these two missing planes puzzled him he looked at two articles and understood everything exactly the solution was there right in front of his eyes both stories were written in the same newspaper there was no real dispatcher who communicated with the planes nothing was known about the passengers no newspapers except this one published news about these missing aircraft it seemed they just took the same story and changed the dates locations and names of flights yes the case was solved it was all fake the rain stopped detective anderson looked out the window and heard the sound of a passing train he remembered another weird and fake story a story about a phantom train it took place in italy in 1911. 100 passengers boarded the train of the zanetti railway company it went through the picturesque mountainous area got into a mountain tunnel and disappeared no one else had seen the train since then all the passengers were lost but not for long they appeared in the past there were records dated 1845 one unknown doctor from mexico city wrote about a hundred italians who appeared in the city from nowhere they were all dressed strangely and talked about one mysterious train this was a completely made-up story there was no proof or records about this train and the people who got into the past a loud sound interrupted his thoughts detective anderson picked up the phone he was silently listening to the person on the other end of the line a minute later he answered yes the detective put the phone down it was a new mystery for him in the sahara desert the locals noticed a huge ship lost in the south pacific 27 years ago there was no crew on board no cargo and no flags no one knew how it appeared among the sand but wet mud formed around it because of moisture it seemed like the ship had just teleported there from the water perfect no fakes this time detective anderson put on his hat and left the office but this story is for another video
