Ancient Friends & New Ventures
A gentle, chilly breeze drifted between the green leaves of the trees. A shrill wail echoed throughout the woods. Lost and alone, a toddler stumbled through thick undergrowth. Tears streamed down the small girl's pale face as her short white hair and long white dress danced in the wind. Her bright green eyes darted out of sheer terror as she walked and crawled through the forest.

Which Writing Platform Is Right For You?
I have been on Vocal since 2018 and Medium since 2019. When I first started on Medium, I ended up walking away from it for several months and more recently started posting there again. There has been a lot of frustration towards Vocal in multiple groups on Facebook. I have a few problems myself, but I still lean toward posting here and competing in the challenges.

Vocal - Pinned Stories Feature
As we all continue to pursue ways to improve our writing and engagement with our work, we need more options to keep exploring new opportunities. Vocal has come a long way ever since I first joined in 2018, and I love the new features they've come to offer.

The Best Marinaded Steak Tips with Rice Recipe
My husband and I have come to love this dish after I've made it a few times ever since discovering the recipe for the marinade. For the longest time, we just grilled the steaks after letting them soak in it for an hour, but after I decided to give this way a shot, I've wanted to do this far more often. That being said I still love how the steaks taste after being grilled, but this way is perfect if it's too cold outside or if you don't have the other materials for using the grill.

The Weight Upon Her Beautiful Wings
A beautiful barn owl perched high on the edge of a window sill on the human's large wooden structure. The barn provided excellent shelter for her to rest. As her eyes peered over the land below, she strained her senses for the slightest scratches of prey.
