Everyone knows it — waking up at 6:00 AM is a difficult thing to do. So is getting up the gumption to clean, or make the bed after a hard day at work. But one thing we don’t always realize is just how easy it is to make a small list of accomplishable things for that day or week, and being able to say “I got up at 6:00 AM this week,” “I made the bed today,” “I cleaned the kitchen floor this afternoon.” The following are simply thoughts written down regarding what I enjoy that help me to have an overall normal or even a better day, with a more productive outcome. I need help in this all the time, so I hope this article helps you some as well.

I think of pour-overs as the caveman's "wheel" of coffee machines. In today's age, coffee makers are systematized and programmable, and K-cups and Keurigs are mean to be fast. Espresso makers are on another level of fancy, as well as cappuccino machines. One might argue a French Press is pretty easy, but with measurements and extreme exactness required, it just seems very time-consuming in the end, and almost like a system is still in place. But then there's pour-overs.

I am barely a "young grasshopper" when it comes to this stuff. If anything I'm just grass waving in the wind (I certainly look like it in some yoga poses). 6 Hair Products That Keep Your Hair Healthy
I really enjoy hair things. Trimming it, dyeing it multiple colors, doing new hairstyles with it. But really the hard part is the upkeep. To a small degree of success, albeit I struggled to keep the grey in as part of my ashblonde-gray phase. It's really difficult, which makes me sad, cause after this experience I would really just dye my whole head grey because it is so beautiful of a color. But it washes out so easily it's almost impossible to keep it for very long.

How Indoor Cycling Changed My (Fitness) Life
My whole life I have always been a rollerblader. After my youth I never really "rode" a bike regularly. I knew how, but I almost never did. So when I thought about the possibility of trying indoor cycling as a new approach to fitness, I was pretty nervous to say the least. Before this I started taking barre classes, which helped with toning and building some much-needed muscle, but the particular classes I was in usually didn't offer me a whole lot of cardio and running. After making the decision to go for it, I tried out some free classes my local indoor cycling studio offered me. But leading up to my walking in the studio door, I couldn't help but consider. Was I going to make it? Was I going to pass out? What if I just get stuck and toppled over? Is it too intense for me as a beginner?

Home: Taking Time to Decorate
Like all humans, I'm not a big fan of clutter in my own home. I definitely let it go sometimes and I'm staring at a pile of picture frames, laundry, pillows, or whatever for days at a time. Alas, I have several "mini-projects" that I really want to see the light of day, but I just know it'll be months before they actually all unfold. Some are big. Some are small. I'm okay with that though, because when designing a home, you need adequate time to breathe and actually enjoy planning, and allowing yourself the opportunity to change things up. Even a year later.

How to Read a Book
If you're like me, you have no idea how to finish a supposed page-turner. I will be honest, if I am filling out an Instagram survey (this should already clue you into how I waste my time) that asks me to circle what I'd rather do on a Friday night, and the two choices are reading a book or watching Netflix, this university-grad will unabashedly circle the one that requires the least of my concentration. And write in run-on sentences.

Having Friends Over for Coffee or Tea?
I had a free afternoon one day, and decided to do something I haven't done in a really long time: go to a coffeeshop, sit down, and do some light reading and writing. I wrote a letter to my sister-in-law, and began reading an informational book I purchased at a Half-Price Books. It was so nice. Each table had it's own little succulent plant in a metal tin, and the table I sat at had the appearance of marble. Very aesthetic.
