Paddington Bear series
This is an overall critique of the Paddington Bear series. All of these books are about a little British bear in a raincoat and yellow hat who loves marmalade. Paddington has many adventures throughout all the books. Each book has pencil sketches depicting what is going on in each of the chapters. In the beginning book Paddington arrives to live with his new family in New York and waiting at the train station and his adventures begin. Paddington Bear kind of reminds me of Winnie the Pooh in a way, but totally different too. This is a first in a series of critiques of this series.

Arko The Dark Union
Quite the read and quite the adventure for U.W. Leo has written 'Arko The Dark Union' that is the first in a series that is science fiction, fantasy and a bit spiritual for a young adult novel. It tells the story of a group of children and their parents who are on a scientific journey. Ben, Abigail, Gaia, Ariel and Amir are on a school vacation and are going to help their parents that brings the past to the present and maybe beyond. U.W. Leo is a show and tell writer that is quite factual with the way he uses language at various points in the story. It is also a story of diversity and learning about oneself and others as well as working together to solve issues that occur.

A Penguin's Quest
'A Penguin's Quest' is a children's picture book written by Scott McDermott and illustrated by Christine Anderson. What does a penguin do when confronted with a wish? This is the story of a little penguin named Ingrid who had a wish to do something that penguins do not usually do in their lives along with other many adventures they may have. This is a great picture book that can be used across the curriculum that can also increase creativity and language skills. Christine has created images that are vivid and realistic that look like photographs. It is a book that is a story of making friends and learning more about oneself.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!
This one is very early, but I am on a roll. 'Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!' created by Charles M. Schlutz is when Charlie is assigned in school to read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy over the New Years holiday and write a report. He wants to enjoy the holiday with the little red-haired girl, but something happens and couldn't. This one is not as old as the other Charlie Brown specials, but it is still fun to watch just to see the gang getting ready for another new year together.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' created by Charles M. Schlutz. This is one of my favorite holiday cartoons this time of year. It is no longer shown as a holiday special on network television, but I can watch it on DVD. This is when Charlie Brown receives a telephone call by Peppermint Patty and invited herself to Thanksgiving dinner, but Charlie has other plans. The whole gang gathers in Charlie's backyard for a 'special' dinner. There are to me many still funny scenes.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This one is late since Halloween is over, but 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown created by Charles M. Schlutz is another one of my favorite holiday specials that is no longer offered on television. This one is when Linus sits in the pumpkin patch waiting for him like the Great Pumpkin is Santa Claus. All his friends do all the fun Halloween activities, and even Snoopy has an adventure.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
A bit early for this one, but 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' created by Charles M Schlutz is another one of my favorite holiday specials, but no longer able to watch on network television. This is the one where Charlie is depressed due to the fact of all the commercialism of the holiday. He seeks out help and becomes part of a school play with all the gang. This is where they all learn the real meaning of Christmas. In all these years I still feel 'real in' watching this one even though it does seem somewhat dated, but still fun to watch.

Psalms. Content Warning.
'Psalms' a collection of songs, poems and even very short stories that help people through many a problem. Some are short and some are long, but all will make you think about love, peace, money, family, hope, praise, and charity. This collection will inspire readers to think before acting out in various situations.

Plum Lovin'
'Plum Lovin' a between the numbers novels by Janet Evanovich. This is a Stephanie Plum novel and her friend Diesel. This is a Valentine's Day story where Stephanie as a bondsman is also in trying to find a skip does the skip's so-called job as a relationship specialist and does make various connections. 'Plum Lovin' is a romance novel, but a fun one to read.

Dai and the Missing Baby Crocodile
'Dai and the Missing Baby Crocodile' written by David Hale and drawn by Nicholas Child in a way answers my question- How do we differentiate between various kinds of animals? This is the story of Dai and a little boy named Johnny Jones and their travels through the countryside. This is a story that shows David's and Nicholas's imagination about learning about very specific types of animals. Nicholas's artwork is one way that tells this story that shows and tells the importance of family. It is also a book that could be a game.
