Bio
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a writer. I tend to see life as a series of snapshots and magical moments. My six children are grown now, I am retired, and I would dearly love to pursue my love of the written word.

Feminine Self Love
Self love is a popular topic these days. We read about how to love ourselves in magazines and social media. And, in essence, we see a lot more about feminine self love than we do the masculine variety. Maybe that is because men aren't expected to be anything more than what they appear to be... physically, mentally, or emotionally. I am not saying that men don't have societal pressure to be more than. They just don't have as much pressure on them as their female counterparts.

Simple Living
Three years ago I wandered into one of many of life's crossroads. My roommate and I had to leave the apartment in which we had been living. We are both in our sixties, and it was an alright place for us to be. Granted, it was a basement apartment and the mold situation had made both of us sick on occasion. But, the landlord had finally installed a dehumidifier and that seemed to take care of the problem.

The Versatility of Rice
Rice is actually consumed in one form or another by half of the world’s population. Brown rice is indigenous to India. It was introduced to China more than 3,000 years B.C. Brown rice found its way to America around 1647, and now the United States is one of the largest exporters of rice. Although rice is grown in more than 100 countries, 95 percent of the world’s rice is grown and consumed in Asia.

Whittle the Waist
I hated being skinny when I was a child. The other kids would tease me because my clothes were always too big. I didn’t even need a bra until I was 15, and even then it was more for show than because I really needed one. I actually only weighed 99 pounds when I graduated from high school. Even when I was older and gave birth to four children, my weight zoomed right back down after the deliveries. I could basically eat anything I wanted and not gain a single pound.

Left or Right Brain Dominant?
Understanding how your brain works can definitely help you to understand why you tend to act differently than your friends and family in certain situations. Knowing that you are right brain dominant and tend to be more intuitive and less logical than your left brain dominate friends can change the way you view life. If you are a right brainer working in a left brainer dominated workplace, you may feel like an outcast.

A Special Kind of Love
I just want to tell you I love you and always will. I forgave you years ago for whatever transgressions may have happened between us. But it took seeing you dance with our daughter at her wedding to make me realize that there was still a tiny ember of love burning deep within my heart.

When we adopt a cute little puppy or kitten, we generally are not thinking that at some point that puppy or kitten is going to become a senior citizen and require special care and pampering. But, the fact is dogs and cats have a much shorter life span than their human companions.

Soda Pop Cakes
Did you know that you can make an awesome, moist, and delectable cake using only two ingredients? And, what if I told you that one of those ingredients is soda pop? That’s right... carbonated soda and a box of cake mix. The soda replaces the water, eggs, and oil. Plus, using soda as the second ingredient actually reduces the fat and calories that are a bit part of a regular cake. You can also use diet soda to even further reduce the calories!

The Magic of Manifestation
My father was a carpenter, although he didn’t have any formal training. He was a truck driver by trade, and a very gentle soul and musician by nature. He loved to create with his hands and wood was his medium. Our home was filled with shelves and bookcases that he had skillfully put together in his own special fashion.

Holistic Health
The shamans and healers of old always looked at the whole person they were treating. They knew that a person was so much more than just a physical vessel called the body. In fact, treating the soul was first and foremost so that the body could begin its healing process.
