Fantasy, Horror, and Adventure are the genres I enjoy writing, particularly when they're all in the same story.

#5 A Man, A Girl, and A God?
The colour of auburn licks the trees, paints the sky, heats the skin, singes the hair and fur, and blows the black wind. The man gazed out the window, holding a young, cherished one. The young child blinked slowly, breathing heavily. Both were sweating. The sound of cries echoed through the streets. The smell of burning flesh rose to the sky, tickling their senses as it did. The deer did not survive.

#1: The Kangalaree
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. - M." The text message blurred and flickered as Kal's phone ran out of battery. The moonlight sprinkled through the canopy of eucalyptus trees. The frosty wind sent a whispering howl through the forest as leaves rustled amongst the Kooraringa forest floor.

#3: The Hollow City
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. This was the only room in the building that had a window. It was special to her, for many reasons, but the main one at this point in time was because it gave her a glimpse of the outside world. It wasn't distasteful or chaotic, it was a somber yet peaceful sight to see. Buildings that were collapsed and in ruins that were scattered across the vast area of the edge of the city had grass, vines, and floral plants growing from them. It seemed like plant-life and animals were growing on the concrete carcasses of an era that just ended. Nature knows no obstacle in its conquering of the world. Such a beautiful yet sad truth. The young girl could see what looked like cars, bikes, and even trolleys scattered throughout the streets ahead of her. Shattered glass from the car and building windows reflected numerous colours of the rainbow. What she did not expect to discover in a world now peacefully quiet was a new range of colours. The shattered glass of the buildings scattered in the streets reflected the entire rainbow, and then some that no two words could explain. The fact that, despite the world rising from the ashes of the one she once knew, is something the young girl couldn't stop thinking about ever since her arrival at the man's building.
