My Confession
Dear Mama, I started writing again!, and joined a platform that gives all types of challenges to its participants. It's fun pushing myself to write in different styles, or with different prompts, or just closing my eyes and letting my fingers fly over the keyboard like I used to do in my teenage years before that dreaded day when Writer's Block struck hard.

Escape Room
I pulled onto the street of the old Haunted Schoolhouse. Built in 1890, it served as a one-room schoolhouse well into the 1960s. Once public schools started opening in the area, attendance diminished until, in 1970, its doors were closed. The building sat vacant for nearly a decade until it was resurrected as a very popular haunted house attraction. In 2020, a worldwide pandemic forced the attraction to close, and then in 2021 a new buyer purchased the property and transformed it into an escape room.

The gas needle dipped to E, jumped up to half a tank, then plummeted back below E. I managed to pull over onto the side of the road as my car slowly came to a stop. Suits me for buying a lemon, I guess. I'd only topped off 80 kilometers back, it shouldn't have been empty. Time to hoof it.

Spectators huddled together in tightly packed groups, each member wearing a parka and most hunkered down in sleeping bags suitable for sub-zero temperatures, though the temperatures this night weren't quite that subpar.
