Natural Yarns for Knitting
I have been knitting for over 40 years of my life and knitting is my solace and passion. Recently, I have discovered and worked with some of the rarest and highest quality natural yarns on earth, so I feel it's time to create a ranking system for myself and those who might be interested in this type of information. I will start with the most desirable and highly valued yarns that I hunt for on Etsy as they are usually more expensive on other sites.

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window
I love Kristen Bell. I love her for acting in "Veronica Mars," "The Good Place," and "Bad Moms," for singing in the "Frozen" movies, and for promoting women's and girls' issues on "Armchair Expert" podcast. I would watch anything with her, so when Netflix automatically cued "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window" after the series finale of "After Life" that made me cry, I thought it would be a good distraction from the emotional wreck that Ricky Gervais made me into with the ending of his show.

Conversation Finishers
In communication studies and skill-building workshops, we often talk about conversation starters – questions that help us warm up to strangers, make it easier to get to know each other. Some people call it chit chat, some others – water-cooler interactions, yet others – icebreakers. They make disclosing personal information easy because they are non-threatening and fun. At the same time, you can find shared interests and establish understanding with such interactions. These questions include, "What's your favorite movie?", "What are you reading recently?", "Have you seen that sports game yesterday?" etc.

Axe Soup
I came back to Pennsylvania from a winter break in the south right before the big snow storm hit yesterday. One of the biggest disadvantages of doing that is that I’m low on food supplies and don’t want to venture outside even for the necessary grocery shopping. First, it’s too cold and the snow is 15 inches high. Second, it’s MLK Day and I’m not sure if anything is open. Walmart, probably. Third, I don’t even want to take my car on the snowy road.

Trip to Peru, Part 1
I have the best travel partner in my life: My soon-to-be-20-year-old son. I'm pretty sure he will soon tell me that he wants to travel with his friends rather than me, but we still enjoy each other's company while traveling, especially abroad. Between 2011 and now, we've had amazing adventures together in Ireland, Turkey (Istanbul), Germany, and Brazil. Not to mention multiple trips to Russia and Central Asia where I come from. My son is a college student, I'm a college professor, so we both have good winter and summer breaks and before the pandemic we always traveled somewhere far away.
