Broken Wing
Her smile was to die for the way she would walk in the room. Swaying her hips side to side and her head heald high, her body spoke to everyone in the room. Her voice was angelic there was a fire in her eyes when you looked at her. Her smell was memorable you couldn’t resist her as she glided through the room. Her skin was golden brown with glow to it and her hair was long and silky and curly. There was something about this woman that made me want to be her at that very moment, her evening gown was so beautiful and elegant. Her diamonds around her neck and fingers we’re gorgeous her make up was flawless she had full lips that had this stunning red lipstick on them. When she would laugh it would sound like a melody from heaven, I just had to go and introduce myself to this beautiful queen. As I began to walk towards her direction she looked my way and I got startled and turned around and went the other way. I became extremely nervous and nauseous so I ran to the restroom, after I gathered myself I walked out of the restroom and who do I see waiting at the door. The beautiful queen smiling showing all her pearly white teeth she say’s hey there how are you doing tonight. I couldn’t believe my eyes let alone my eyes I began to respond but no words weren’t coming out, this is not happening I try again and nothing there I stood speechless and nervous and in disbelief. She grabbed my hand and laughed and said it’s okay we can work on that let’s go grab a drink and we walked to the bar. She ordered our drinks and ask the bartender for a pen and a napkin, then I blurted out Kia my name is Kia, she said nice to meet you Kia I am Ms. Mack glad you can talk because for a moment there I thought you couldn’t and I was going to tell you just write it down. We both laughed and I told her no I was just speechless and shocked you spoke to me and, she stopped me right there and said well. I have noticed you watching me since I came in and I was also curious myself who this beautiful chocolate queen who was standing in the corner I began to laugh and blush because I didn’t think I was beautiful at all but her words felt so right to my broken ears. We talked for hours at the bar and I was so amazing to hear her story and just to see how we have so much in common it was so intriguing to hear how someone with it all have nothing. We agreed to meet there same time tomorrow when I got back to my hotel I couldn’t believe my luck and I was so excited I didn’t sleep I stayed up the whole time writing down question’s that I would like to ask Ms. Mack. I showered and got dressed then there was a knock at the door I was startled because no one knew me or knew I was staying here. As I looked out there was a man in well dressed and he had a box with a ribbon on top so I decided to open the door, he introduces his self to me as King and I was so taking back by this man presence. He said he was and Ms. Mack driver and the gift was for me from Her she is requesting I put this on then join King for a drive I was so excited I quickly changed and got in the car it was so beautiful. We arrived 45 minutes later at a excluded beach house it was so breathtaking I couldn’t believe my eyes as I approach the door a elderly woman open the door and greeted me with open arms I felt so connected to her immediately. She introduces herself as Mama Mack and she said she was the grandmother of Ms. Mack she was short and had beautiful long gray hair with glowing brown skin with a smile to die for. The house was so amazing we entered into the dining area where Ms. Mack was setting the table she came and gave me a hug and said make your self at home we can eat shortly hope I’m hungry. As we sat and ate and shared stories and laughed I began to think about my life and my past I wished I had a family that loves me the way mama Mack love Ms. Mack. Here I was only 22 years old and knew nothing about my birth parents but they were from New Orleans and they were musicians I was always told I resemble my father, my aunts raised me my whole life I was told my parents died when I was very young and my aunts made a promise to always protect me. When I was 19 years old I packed up everything I had and moved to New Orleans to find more information about them but so far it was a dead end so I found work and a room and I have been trying to get by but it has been a challenge. After dinner we went out in the back and watched the waves come in by the fireplace the sunset was so amazing it was like I was somewhere else letting my hair down living life. We had an memorable night it was everything and more I said good night to the ladies and King took my back to my room he was a man of very little conversation but he was such an gentleman. I spent the next few months with the ladies and then things became strange I couldn’t put a finger on it at the time mama mack took a different type of likening to me and she always wanted me with her at all times and Ms. Mack became distant for some odd reason. Then one day I was helping mama Mack pack up some old boxes in the basement when I came across some family photos which was fine until I found one with me and my aunts, right then and there I was confused I had questions i didn’t understand why was this photo here and how did she know my aunts. When I was done with the basement I found a lot more then just photos it was my whole life if boxes I had to go find mama Mack and get some answers but I couldn’t find her anywhere I ran into King. And that’s when my whole life changed right there at the moment who would of ever knew, when I ran into him I dropped all the photos and he began to crying heavily and I was unsure why I asked him was he okay what’s going on he told me to sit down it was time that I knew the truth. I asked him the truth about what he said about who I’m really am and the real reason I’m here and what he told me sent me into to shock and I couldn’t believe the things he was saying all I could do was cry and listen. When he was done we sat there in silence looking at each other crying in silence just at the moment Ms. Mack walked in and I couldn’t believe the words that left my mouth I shouted at the top of my lungs “MA HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME MA HOW COULD YOU LIE TO ME WHEN WAS YOU GOING TO TELL ME” I ran off and made it back to my hotel I was devastated that I thought I had no one in this world but my aunts I thought god had punished me for being born so he took my parents. But to find out they have been alive this whole time and never came back for me I felt so alone I just wanted my aunts so I packed up and went home when I arrived I just broke down on the stoops of the house. My aunt Janet open the door and embraced me with everything she had and told me to come inside it’s okay we will get through this together.....
