The Locket
Jessie stood, tired and dirty, waiting in line for a chance at some clean water. Although she was barely twenty years old, her face and skin had the look of someone three times her age, and she had long ago shaved off her hair for the sake of practicality. She was small and frail, and looked like she could pass out at any moment, but that was no different than all of the others standing in line with her. For as long as she could remember, water was the most precious and rare of all resources. It was almost impossible to find fresh, clean water anymore. Wars were fought over it, and once those wars had decimated most of the planet, individuals began fighting over it. Fights were becoming less common, and this was how most people tried to obtain it; enormous lines that could sometimes be a mile long and would take hours and hours to get through. People brought whatever they could think of that might be valuable enough to trade for even the smallest amount. Almost everyone brought food to trade, since it was the only thing that virtually anyone with any small amount of skill was able to grow for themselves.

My Last Days
ENTRY #1 If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance I’m dead, or maybe just gone. I wish I could tell you what I mean by “gone”, but I have no idea what happens to the ones who disappear. I found this empty notebook at the last house I visited, so I’ve decided to start keeping a log, or a diary of sorts, in the hope that if someone finds it, they’ll have an idea what’s happened. Not that I even know what happened, but I’ll do my best to explain.

Desert Journey
There. Over there. On the horizon. I can see it clearly now. There's definitely a ship over there. Not just any ship, but a magnificent sailing ship with bright white, billowing sails. It's too far away at the moment to make out the details, but I imagine it is made from the finest wood, polished to a shine, with an incredible figurehead to lead the way through cool blue waters. Maybe an eagle or a lion. Something amazing.

The Worst Day I've Ever Had At Work
I am a railroad employee, and I'm trained as both a conductor and an engineer. For those of you that don't know, an engineer is the person who controls the train, while a conductor is the person who has to be outside taking care of all the physical work. You start your railroad career as a conductor, and eventually when you have enough experience and seniority you can become an engineer. I'm sure you can guess which job is more dangerous.

Mandatory Online Gaming
Am I the only one who doesn't like online gaming? I shouldn't say I don't like it, but I certainly don't see the attraction of playing with people I don't know. Maybe that's just me. I would much rather play with my friends, and I don't mean having them at their house while I'm at mine. I want to be in the same room. I bet I'm in the minority, but I really miss split-screen gaming.

The Ultimate Game Day Snack
When it comes to game day, or any other day for that matter, there is only one food that can be called the ultimate snack. One food that comes in so many varieties, from simple to surprisingly complex, that everyone can find a type they enjoy. The super food I’m talking about is, of course, NACHOS.

The Little Black Book
In the small town of Burbank, there were shops of every kind. Most of them lined main street on both sides, where someone could find anything they needed, and many things they didn’t. One of these shops was Burbank Antiques, as the small sign above the door let everyone know. Like most antique stores, there were shelves and shelves full of items some people would call junk, but others would call treasures.
