My Painfully Realistic First Year of Freelancing
March 4th marked my final day as a full-time teacher. In the past five years, I worked as the head teacher at my last private academy. As Head Teacher, I worked as the middleman between Korean and Native English teachers. My duties included creating and checking lesson plans, approving schedules, leading after-school programs, pitching field trip ideas and extracurricular activities, and smoothing out any cultural miscommunication that sometimes happens in international settings. all this, plus the regular work of a full-time teacher in charge of seven-year-old students.

There is nothing quite like the joy of wandering around a bookstore. I love digging through the shelves and finding a hidden gem. I love the smell of the worn paper and the background noise of other customers flipping through pages.

How My Mother’s Histrionic Personality Disorder Ruined Our Relationship. Content Warning.
According to my father, all my mother ever wanted was children of her own. She spent their teenage daydream years hoping someday she would one day be called mommy. Though I have no memories of this, my family often states what a good mother she was when we were babies and toddlers. She coddled us and bounced us on her hip. Mounds of photo albums prove that my brothers and I were often wrapped in her thin arms.
