My name is Kay. I'm a writer. I write about all things anti-anti aging. I write about how to age well, with style, grace and a much needed sense of humor! My goal is to inspire, educate and entertain! Live, learn and laugh with me!

Smile! If you can.
If you are anywhere near my age, you grew up seeing some teeth soaking in a glass jar! It was traumatizing. My Mom had dentures and considering she only lived to her early 40’s (and I don’t recall her EVER NOT HAVING THEM) she must have lost her teeth an extremely young age. It could have been the Pepsi and M&M addiction. (Which for a time, I inherited!) I don’t think it was all the uncommon back then. Dentures were everywhere! I guess for whatever reason, teeth were neglected. Perhaps due to the expense! And if you did have dental work, there’s a good chance they put some unhealthy fillings in your mouth! Mercury, a known neurotoxin was often used in fillings. (Might explain some of the many neurological issues plaguing older adults.)

Let's Talk Oral

Aging is a gift.
I used to routinely be mistaken for a much younger woman. People always guessed my age as 10 or more years younger than I actually was. I would sometimes even brag about how old I was just for the shocked reaction. I might even round up to the next birthday! It was a compliment I must have needed. Insecurity to some degree, I imagine. But it felt good.

MIRROR, MIRROR
Every morning, the same routine. Pee, wash hands, wash face, brush teeth, shower, and get dressed. Typically three days a week, I’m dressing to work out. Three days a week, I’m putting on my walking shoes. At least one day each week, I'm dressing to just simply sit with a book or a notebook and feel guilty for not walking or working out!

Spoiled Rotten
Once upon a time, we ate real food. This is NOT that story. This is a story of how we are all spoiled rotten! Let me tell you about a little experiment I did years back. Okay, it didn’t start out as an experiment. It started out as a doggie bag from a barbecue I attended in early Spring. Or should I call it a feast of processed meats? Every now and again, I have to admit, I do like the taste of a slightly charred hot dog right off the grill. Surrounded by a lightly grilled bun, slathered with dijon mustard and sweet relish. I guess it brings back memories of childhood. (Minus the Grey Poupon) Or maybe it’s the chemicals and preservatives and sugar that they put in those things so that we become addicted to them that was the issue.
