The Beginning of the End
When you think you're happy, everything looks better than it really is. Situations seem to always work out even though you thought it was the worst thing ever. Gavin and I have been married for three wonderful years. He has been away on an antiquities business trip for two months while I have been home planning our anniversary reunion.

Bull Mass
I usually enjoy Saturday evening mass with my mother, but today it seemed impossible to concentrate. My mind was racing over Nate and the possibility of him hanging from a noose. The vision was all too real. My mother grabbed my hand to stand up. I hadn’t realized it was time to take holy communion. Where had I been during the service? I shuffled my way behind the others with my head bowed, not paying attention to the priest standing before me. I felt his hot breath on my forehead. “He will hang again.” rang the voice. I jerked my hands, falling backward into the front kneeler barrier.

Marigold Blues
The grand opening of Tailyour Stories and Coffee Shoppe is just two weeks away, and there is so much left to do. Dom is looking for Nate. My mother is trying to get me to talk to Sarah. She can jump in the lake as far as I’m concerned. I am sitting in the middle of the store sorting gifts for the shelves getting more flustered by the minute. Nothing seems to be going right today.

Hiding Places
There is something to be said for punctuality. Dominic said he would be here at 11:00. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt he would be here on time, and he knocked on the door at 10:59. I'm glad I followed my intuition to be ready on time. I wasn't sure where we were going for lunch, so I made sure to dress casually in a simple malibu blue maxi dress and nude sandals. He wore khaki shorts, an olive green polo, and Sperrys. We looked ready for a day at the beach.

Death by Howling Chocolate
Unfortunately, Clay came back later that day with a warrant and a state trooper. I saw the red dot on his dashboard and warned daddy and Big Paw not to do anything. They both went in separate vehicles without a fuss. Clay came to talk to me because he thought I would "understand" his situation better than momma or Mimi.

Twelve Layers of Success and Shame
Standing on the back porch; and all I could see was dust. They could call it "The Fair City" if they wanted to, but this was anything but fair. Perth is the most irritating town this side of the Brazos. Everyone knows who should and should not be within its town limits, as well as within twenty miles. I came home after a failed marriage; actually, Gavin tried to have me killed, and college took all my money. I needed to take care of my family and start the next chapter of my life. Trust me, this is not how I thought I would be spending my prime, but I will make it work.

The Letter
“See you tomorrow!”, yelled Gavin out of the uber window. “I love you!”, I yelled back, but he was already rolling up the window and telling the driver to get out of there. The car peeled away on the wet street. I thought to myself that it was odd that he didn’t say anything back, but ran towards the door anyway.

The Howling
My dad’s bellowing voice I had made as his ringtone jolted me from my soft, warm, inviting bed. Dreams quickly faded while I stretched trying to find the phone on my cluttered nightstand. I knocked several things to the floor including a cup of water on the dog.

Around the World with Royal Caribbean
Anyone who knows me knows that I love to cruise and only on Royal Caribbean. I recognize that every cruise I take is different and that not everyone has the same experience. Over the last ten years though, I have had some pretty amazing food from around the caribbean; these are just a few.
