Creating Your Own Reality: September 2020's Full Moon in Pisces
What is a Full Moon? A Full Moon occurs when the sun is opposite the moon, representing the peak, or climax of the lunar cycle. Throughout history, Full Moons have been known to cause unexpected events, and strange behavior. Because the two luminaries are in opposition to one another, Full Moons are known to highlight any opposing forces or polarities in your life, such as the balance between self and the other, the balance between the masculine and feminine, and the balance between work and home.

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger: August 2020's New Moon in Leo
What is a New Moon? A New Moon represents the beginning of the lunar cycle when the moon is conjunct the sun and invisible to the human eye. New Moons are a good time for fresh starts and new beginnings. It is a good time to start a new project or make a radical change. It's also a good time to find clarity on what you want and release what no longer serves you. The effects of a New Moon generally last for about two weeks, up until the next Full Moon.

The Birth Chart & Solar Return (2020-2021) of the United States
The Birth Chart of the United States of America The United States' birth time is subject to debate, but this is the chart that makes the most sense to me. With a Sagittarius Rising, the United States of America has a very expansive character, for better or for worse. For those who don't know, the dark side of Sagittarius is a dogmatic one, pushy & preachy, unaccepting of others' belief systems. The first American settlers colonized a country that already belonged to others and continue to this day dogmatically push our ideals onto other nations. Sagittarius is a fire sign associated with freedom and America is known as the land of the free - and in some ways is - but in other ways this is hypocrisy. The first settlers wanted freedom for themselves - but still owned slaves, for example. Still, Americans are known for being open & honest about subjects in which other cultures might find taboo. Sagittarius is associated with "travel," and "other cultures," and America is known as a nation founded on immigration, a country built on multi-culturalism, and people here have many belief systems. It is - ideally - a free country, in which everyone can say & believe what they want.

The Decans of Taurus
What are Decans? I've been seeing a lot of posts circulating around astrology groups recently, claiming that, or asking if, the different months have an effect on your star sign. Is there any credence to the idea that for example, an April Taurus will behave differently than a May Taurus?

Murky Waters: What To Expect When Mercury Goes Retrograde in Cancer this Summer
What is Mercury in Retrograde? A retrograde planet is one that appears to be moving in the opposite direction. Astrologically, this means that the energies represented by the planet are directed backwards or inward. Retrograde periods are often riddled with delays and disruption, but they don't have to be. These periods are not so much a time for action, but a time for reflection. Retrograde periods are also loaded with synchronicity and karma. So, they can also be periods of magic and manifestation if you just focus within rather than without. Things from the past will return to us. This could be people from our past, including from our past lives, situations, or memories that we thought we had forgotten about, or maybe just lessons that we're getting a second chance at learning after having failed the first time around.
