What Does "Mercury in Retrograde" Mean? A retrograde planet is one that, from the vantage point of earth, appears to be moving in the opposite direction. From an astrological perspective, this means that the energies represented by the planet are directed "backwards" or "inward." Retrograde periods are often riddled with delays and disruption, but there's no need to panic. It is just a time for reflection rather than for taking action. These periods can actually be loaded with magic & synchronicity, causing things from the past to return to us, whether this be people, situations, memories we thought we had forgotten about or lessons that we're getting a second chance to learn after having failed the first time around.

The Future is Now: Pluto's Journey Through Aquarius
Pluto's Journey from Capricorn to Aquarius Almost immediately after Pluto entered Capricorn in January 2008, it triggered a global financial crisis known as "the great recession." The banks collapsed, and while the economy is said to have healed since then (higher wages, lower unemployment rates, etc.), I look at the financial situations of the people around me and think, "has it really?" The COVID-19 pandemic, which coincided with a Capricorn stellium involving Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter, brought about another worldwide economic crisis; businesses were shut down and thousands of people lost their jobs. That said, throughout all this, the billionaires have been fine. After all, Pluto is the planet of plutocracy, of power and money, and underhanded conspiracy. It is also the planet of death and rebirth, of transformation, and of the passionate intensity buried in the depths of the subconscious mind.

Spirits in the Material World: How Saturn in Pisces Will Affect Your Sign
Saturn in Pisces: an Introduction Since March 20th, 2020, Saturn has been transiting through the sign of Aquarius. Although Aquarius is thought of as a social sign, Saturn's entrance into the fixed air sign coincided with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the first lockdowns. Like Capricorn, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. Considering that Saturn is at home Aquarius, we can safely say that Saturn performed quite strongly here and that this time gave way to the challenges and limitations that Saturn is known for. While Saturn in Capricorn coincided with the spread of right-wing populism, Saturn in Aquarius simultaneously brought isolation, strengthening the boundaries between ourselves and others, and a sense of connection with the whole world, as this was a virus in which no country was immune. Jupiter remained in the sign of the ram until October 28th, when it traveled retrograde back into Pisces, only to enter Aries once again, on December 20th, where it will stay until it enters Taurus on May 16th, 2023.
