Autism doesn't just exist in April
I'm autistic, and more often than not when I meet someone...I'm met with the statement, "You don't look autistic!" As if its some sort of compliment or praise I'm supposed to graciously accept. The normal person's knowledge of autism is limited, and often rather stereotyped.

Trash Panda
Jessica was awakened by another bump in the night. It was the third time that week, and she sat up to investigate what the ruckus was this time. She had her suspicions, a chubby raccoon who was getting into things in her garden one night. The next night? Same raccoon, different motive. It had found itself away into her trash cans but not a way out. She had no idea what tonight had in store for her, but if her instincts were correct, it was the same little trash panda with an ever expanding waist line.

The Truth about the Liar
Over a decade ago, I befriended a pathological liar. I didn't know it right away, of course. I was blinded by green flags and the excitement of someone who seemed to have a lot in common with me. We met at a concert after all! They dazzled me though, with shiny things and stories padded with excitement and wonder. It took me years to see how much was actually a facade she'd built up around the reality of herself. I finally blinked and opened my eyes to clear vision and the realization that my best friend was actually a master manipulator...a monster.
