Time Of Death
“Beep,” I heard, randomly. I opened my eyes and sat up in my bed. The noise startled me as I looked to see what it came from. Across my room, near the window, was my alarm clock. It was the only bit of light that was shining in the room and was the only thing that could’ve made that noise. I stared at it for a second or two, seeing it blink 12 am every second, in that ominous red glow.

Whatever Happened To Home
Today was the day — The day where I left it all behind. Why I would do such a thing? Well, I have yet to come up with a simple answer for that. It’s far more complicated than just one thing. It’s a buildup of pressure that has slowly been pushing for an escape. And the only escape I ever knew — was to run away.

The Noise Darkness Makes
Tick… Tick… Tick… That noise—what is that noise? Tick… Tick… Tick… There it goes again. What is that noise? I can only see darkness, so what is causing that sound? Maybe a clock? But where? I tried to concentrate, but it sounded like it was coming from everywhere—All directions, with no relent, as it continued to tick, tick, tick.

The Race We're All In
People continued to jog down the dirt trail. Dozens by dozens they came and went, turning each corner up and down the mountain. None of us knew why we were in the race, yet we all were, and people were not willing to give up any inch to lose their lead. I found myself in the middle of the pack, not too rushed and not too slow. I was pacing myself for the long run and just enjoying the scenery, as I continued to jog along with the four of my friends.
