The Cabin on Devil's Lake
I stare out at the familiar grey water as our car moves along the dirt road. Every summer as a kid my family and I would drive up to stay at our cabin by Devil's Lake. It was always so pretty in the summer. But now, with November looming, it looked ugly. The leaves on the trees were gone, leaving nothing but pointy branches.

Dudeism: It's a Real Thing, Man
When The Big Lebowski came out in 1998, not many people went to see it. But in the past couple of decades, it’s gained a huge following. The film follows slacker Jeffrey Lebowski, who goes by the Dude, or Duder, or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. Anyway, the Dude here gets mistaken by a couple of thugs for a different Jeffrey Lebowski, this one being a millionaire. It seems this millionaire Lebowski has a wife named Bunny, and she owes a lot of people money. When the thugs realize they’ve got the wrong Lebowski, they scram. But not before peeing on the Dude’s rug, which really tied the room together, man. This sets up an odyssey of comic mayhem, as the Dude tries to get some compensation for his rug.

Why "Cry Macho" is a Mediocre Outing From a Great Filmmaker
Note: There are minor spoilers ahead! You have been warned. The new Clint Eastwood movie arrived in theaters this past September to a relatively low box office perfomance and pretty mediocre reviews. As a fan of the iconic actor/director myself, I took the reviews with a grain of salt. I thought the idea of Eastwood potentially taking on an issue such as toxic masculinity would be pretty cool, especially considering many toxic men use Eastwood as a model for the "Shut up and take it like a man" mantra. But, after seeing the movie myself, I can say that it was indeed pretty mediocre. Let me try and explain why.
