Sun Enters the Gate of Pisces Season . Top Story - February 2023.
Welcome to Pisces season! This is one of my favorite zodiac signs. I love them all, but with my Venus in Pisces and as a 1st house Pisces, I feel a particular connection to themes of this sign.

Coyotes on Martha's Vineyard
I live on the small island of Martha's Vineyard off of the southeastern coast of Cape Cod, Massachusssetts. Our little island has long been renowned for its peaceful nature and distinct lack of apex predators. We have bird of prey here like Red Tail Hawks, Osprey, Perregrine Falcons and the occasioal migratory Bald Eagle sighting (I think...don't quote me on that) but never before have we had what's called an apex predator - a large predator at the top of its food chain without something else that would naturally prey on it. Examples of apex predators are bears and wolves, but in Southeastern Massachusetts, coyotes are as big and bad as it gets for the most part. Still, the island had never had a coyote population, or at least hasn't had one in a very long time. Over the years you'd occasionally hear about individual coyotes swimming from the mainland or other neighboring islands like the Elizabeth islands. The majority of them didn't survive the swim and would wash up dead on shore, although a few individuals did make it over but were probably shot and killed or decided to leave the island and swim away, as the sightings were short-lived.

The Story of You
The Major Arcana tells the story of the fool's journey to spiritual and self awareness. Each of the twenty one cards in the major arcana correspond to an energetic signature which then corresponds to a phase in life, a relationship, people you may encounter on the path, or a specific scenario. Whether a person, a place, a state of mind, or an entire chapter of life lasting years, each card represents one of twenty one critical steps that all souls must encounter on the life path as they journey towards understanding the nature of who they are as spiritual, emotional, and physical beings on the material plane. To understand each step is to understand your self. By the end of the journey, the fool is a fool no longer, and has gained mastery over self. And yet, in reincarnation, is ready to tempoerarily relinquish this learned knowledge to undergo another transformation, en route to a higher, deeper, and purer sense.

10 Tips for your Twenties
1. Wear Sunsreen Wear sunscreen. Always. ALWAYS. Just do it. Wear sunscreen. You don’t have to go out of your way to be tan. It does feel great to absorb that vitamin D, but…wear sunscreen. Protect your skin. Sun exposure is known to cause visible signs of aging and skin cancer. I got a bunch of new freckles and random new moles. This totally might have happened either way, but just in case it’s from the sun….wear sunscreen. Make sure to get your face and the backs of your hands.

"Sweatpants Are All That Fit Me Right Now"
On the cusp of 30, stepping onto the scale after coming home from a three-month stint in New York City, I realize with a mixture of shock and horror: I’ve never weighed this much before. Even my loosest pajama pants, that I had retired to a drawer for years because they didn’t stay up around my hips, now fit snugly around my belly.

GUESSING MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT S11 COUPLES ZODIAC SIGNS
THE COUPLES: Amelia & Bennett MY GUESS: Sagittarius & Aquarius Ok I think that Amelia, based on her demeanor on the show, is a sagittarius. She is warm, agreeable, affectionate, and caring, wordly, a free spirit, and a traveler. While Bennett also has many of these qualities, he seems a bit more fixed in his location and attached to his life as he knows it. Even though Bennett plays it cool much of the time, he is obviously quite quirky and very social, and for this reason I think he's an Aquarius.

Critical Analysis: Thoroughbreds, Film
**SPOILERS** If you have not seen the film Thoroughbreds please be aware that the following review contains spoilers. When I was in high school I discovered cult classics. Every weekend my friends and I would watch another: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Heathers, Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Reservoir Dogs. We loved the movies that were so weird they were known for it. But always, aside from their crazy characters, bizarre scenarios, and at times overt violence, these movies deliver powerful observations on the sheer oddity that is society and human nature.

✨October Energy Update ✨
There's a lot going on this month, if you can't already feel the energy! First off, we have tonight's Full Moon and Harvest Moon. Chiron conjunct Mars in Aries has been bringing attention to wounds to our core personal beliefs or formation of self. In direct opposition with the moon tonight, it's a great time to identify these wounds and do some meditative visioning around accepting, integrating, healing, and releasing, especially with the use of fire or smoke. You might also consider reframing these wounds to understand the gifts and lessons that they taught you. Bring forward the lessons, and leave the pain behind. Read my full moon in aries article for more on tonight's moon.

Firey Full Moon In Aries on October 1
October opens with a Full Moon in Aries opposite the Libra Sun on the first of the month, setting the tone for the next few weeks. Aries energy values "me" while Libra favors "we." While the collective energies might be encouraging us to look for partnership, connection, pleasure, and ease (hello cuffing season), the full moon conjunct Chiron in Aries may highlight wounds to our psyche that aren't quite healed, or old wounds that are reopened by life circumstances, posing a difficult challenge to our ability to connect intimately with others.

Roasted Broccoli & Sweet Potatoes over Quinoa and Black Beans
Cooking is a form of self-care and grounding. After beginning my cycle this morning I decided I might as well replenish my body's iron supplies, so I made iron and magnesium the inspiration for this meal. When women bleed we lose iron, and magnesium can help improve mood and alleviate menstrual cramps, so my desire for this dinner was to help with both of the above.
