You burnt a hole through my heart But not with malice, with love. The fire You brought cauterised my wounds, Staunched their bleeding
Numb in my prison stripes Waiting for the next beautiful lie To take me to another world, another life And keep me breathing for some amount of time.
I did not need to travel far To deep and distant lands To find myself because you are Held safe within my hands * Some seek false prophets, magi, seers
We speak in riddles and diversions To shield ourselves from others' gaze With subtle words conceal our persons From youngest youth to oldest age
I dress in black They say that black is not a colour But the absence of colour But I think black is the most beautiful
