KINDRED IS COMING
-the photo above is the first look photo (that I got from Variety) Octavia E. Butler's Kindred was one of the only books in high school I could be not only bothered to read fully (I became real "anti being forced to read a specific book" in hs), but actually quite enjoyed. It's one of my favorite books of all time.

50th Vocal Story & Overall Stats
So, this Vocal account has existed since August 2021. And it has seen...not much progress, but progress nonetheless. Some days are better than others, and we're gonna break down all of the days together and see if my time here has been worth the work + if I should continue.

BeReal should not…be real
I've been really into watching people talk about why they left social media and why social media is bad, lately. Although, I'll be honest and say I've rolled my eye at every video or message I've seen. Yes, I am well aware that it can be harmful to certain people and their judgement or their self esteem. I have seen how trends start and the whole bbl epedimic/the talk surrounding plastic surgery first hand. I will not sit here and say everyone is better with social media, but I do have an issue when people act as though they don't have a little control over what they see and what they post.

My Birthday Wasn't So Scary
I'm not unique in my experiences or even my fear of my birthday. It's not really related to the whole aging thing in terms of being scared of walking that tight rope before the inevitable plunge, but it does have to do with looking up and realizing another year has gone by and I'm right where I was before it started. That, and the fact that I've been pretty alone for a few of my birthdays and this past one was no different.

Doggone it, I could never stay mad at you.
The closet in my childhood bedroom has seen some things. Clothes off of their hangers and in desperate need of a wash (company was coming, so sue me), my old dog giving birth in there (shouts out to Missy. You'll forever be loved and missed in RP), and well...

"I'm Not a Cat Person"
So, Carrot Top (a name I almost puked when hearing because of how corny it was) is probably the reason why cats have their stereoptypes. She's the basis. She's smart, couldn't care less about what you want (or your existence, as she will walk on you to get to her destination), and has this look that's like "you'll give me everything. I'll give you nothing. And you'll like it."
