The Surprise Visit
“Dearest Charlie, this letter may come as a surprise to you, given that you probably don’t know me. I first met you when you were just a little boy, but I met your parents much earlier. When I heard of your parents’ passing recently, I immediately needed to contact you because we have important business to discuss. It is urgent that we meet – the sooner the better. I cannot overstate the urgency with which we must meet. Please pack your bags immediately and come meet me at my home. The address is 3428 North Lumens Lane, New Berlin, WA 98107. I’ve included enough money to get you here. The sooner you get here, the better it is.

Nostalgia is a bitch
This story begins yesterday. After an incredibly long time with one mobile carrier, I finally decided to make the switch to one of the big ones. You know the one...it's the one who claims to have the most reliable network, 27 years in a row. Yeah, that one. I got to switch over my number and my watch, and it was painless and so incredibly easy.

The translucent boy
I have long wanted to tell this story. I've wanted to tell this story to normalize the paranormal, and, in some way, shed some light on a portion of myself that I don't share with many people. Today, I want to tell you the story of the translucent boy. For you to understand what I'm sharing with you, it is worth noting that the first time I've ever realized the fact that I've seen ghosts was when I was in my 20s. I've seen many ghosts since then, but one of the more noteworthy stories is the story that I am about to tell.

The Things we don't talk about
I have had the fortune of working in the behavioral health system for almost a decade in many different roles and with many different populations. Currently, I am getting ready to be a licensed therapist, and have almost completed my internship for my master's degree. I consider myself blessed to have been able to experience all of these different roles in so many different ways. There are many strange and concerning things that I have experienced in that timeframe, and there is one specific thing that I have always had to come back to, one that has always been of concern to me because it seems to be such a prevalent concern in society these days.

The Surprise Visit
I woke up groggy from a deep, but restful slumber. You know, the kind where we wake up and don’t quite know what day it is? Yes – that sort of slumber. As I sat up and rubbed my eyes to properly see, I noticed it was a dark, overcast morning. Had there not been any clouds, I probably would’ve noticed the reddish blue sky that still lingered from this morning’s dawn. As I sat in bed, mesmerized by the outside world, I heard a knock on the door. “Knock, knock, knock” came the sound – three rather rapid knocks on the door, as if in a hurry. I began to get out of bed when my still awakening senses were greeted by another rapid series of three knocks. “Knock, knock, knock.”
