The Dragon and the Snake
The air was thick with moisture as the sun started to dry up the recent rains. A haze was rising from the ground as the clouds parted and more sun shone through. Alec fanned himself with his tablecloth as he leant in the doorway looking for a cool breeze. There had only been a few customers today at his roadside inn. Usually on this road there would be more, but the recent rains had kept the usual foot traffic down to a minimum. This had also meant that his raucous cook, Gareth, became idle and took to the drink more often. Alec shook his head. There was a bad employment choice if ever he had made one. The cook was a large man of a strong build and fiery temper. No one dared complain about the meals that he put out, that is, not twice anyways. Alec took one last look up and down the hazy road, sighed and turned to go back into the Inn.

The Dragon and the Snake
Thomas looked at the ground around him and watched what happened. The only thing that he could not tell was what words passed between those that had only recently stood here. For days he had been tracking one source of information to this lonely farmstead but when he had arrived there had only been death waiting for him. His contact had run afoul of his prey and now Thomas, in the shade of an old barn, was looking over the evidence to help catch the man.

Itadakimasu!
Japan. There it was. It came into view under the left wing as we descended below the cloud cover. A journey that I had been wanting to make for over ten years was now being made. It hadn’t been a planned event, but rather a spur of the moment decision when I found myself in a doldrums of a place in my life. My mind and health were not in a good place and hadn’t been for some time.

Huntress
As the sword cuts down at Selena’s head, she was surprised by what thoughts wound through her mind. We’ve told legends of the four horsemen for thousands of years. Stories passed down generation to generation. The details might change but the shape is always there. Yet for all the stories, when they came, we were still unprepared. A global pandemic brought the world to a standstill. Quarantine became mandatory and production halted. Famine soon swept along in its wake, and it wasn’t long after that the fighting began. Leaders of the world got greedy, or desperate, it was hard to tell in the end. War raged. Weapons were unleashed upon the world. Destruction in Mans hands and raining down from the sky. The explosions causing skylines to change and the earth to be reshaped.
