5 Times When I Can't Help But Be Myself
I cannot isolate one instance out of the millions of moments my true self has burst through the shell I inadvertently encase it in. My joy, rage, creativity, sorrow, and passion are sealed into an enclosure with no windows, circulation, or sunshine. I will refuse to diminish all the times the best parts of myself were able to escape captivity. So, here are 5 general times when I can’t help but be myself.

5 Ways to Manifest Inner Peace
1. INSERT YOUR PERSONALITY/ INTERESTS WHENEVER OR HOWEVER YOU CAN A job can really feel like a job. Even if this will not be your profession you want it to feel like your destiny. It should feel like every day you are being fulfilled even if they are making you feel like a cog in a machine. You know you are more. You have to be more. I know you are because I am more. You are more than a body. Your input is valuable. It is necessary and influential. No matter where your workplace is or what your position asks of you, you bring your individualism to your environment. Play the music you like. Smile big or frown purposefully. Personalize your space. Celebrate what you feel is of importance. Display the things/ people that elevate your spirit. Wherever you are your best self, bring that version to the place you hate the most. I guarantee you; you will hate it less. Remember who you were when you got to that workplace. Were you optimistic? Did you have ideas you wanted to add to the organization? Make the jokes that make you laugh the hardest or wait until you get home and laugh about your co-workers with people you like. If you are like me, and you like the people you work with, appreciate them. Take advantage of your lunch time. Talk to them. Not about work but about their life. Be a support. Be a sounding board. Be the real laugh machine. Listen to their stories.

How I Managed to Not Create One Story for the 8-Part Summer Fiction Series
Summer steadily seeped through grates we thought had been sealed. 2020 was inconceivable. 2021 has been the embodiment of the residual effects of the catastrophic 2020. There was such a push to get back to normal, we forgot the inevitability of progression. Every story has a beginning, middle, and end. When the beginning is so treacherous, we often are desperate for the end. An ending we hope against probability will be fairytale-like.

A World Like No Other
There is no fantasy world that has captivated its’ fans more than professional wrestling (sports entertainment). The love for wrestling is so uncontainable, it has survived decades, while commanding the loyalty of people of all generations and livelihoods. If you started watching wrestling as a child there was a moment in time when you truly believed that these men and women really hated/loved one another and wanted to stomp a mudhole in each other. No one thinks that the One Ring being destroyed in Mount Doom was a documentary. People are not running into walls at the 9 ¾ platform trying to catch the train to Hogwarts. The world knows Bran Stark does not govern over anyone and no one is waiting on a Jedi to finally make sure the Empire stops striking back. Sadly, heels (the antagonist) of professional wrestling have been stabbed, attacked, harassed, and threatened by “fans” who are too consumed by the fantasy. So many people got hurt trying to mimic the dangerous pro-wrestling moves, the WWE used to have a disclaimer telling fans "to not try this at home." On several occasions I saw my life flash before me, as my brother and his best friend did the Dudley Boyz special on me. The moment I recovered I went right back to play fighting with them. People are so engrossed with the wrestling world, danger and reason are of no concern to them. I can guarantee that countless people believed Diamond Dallas Paige kidnapped Undertaker’s wife Sarah. There were several thousand people who thought Stone Cold was beating on a truly hospitalized Vince McMahon. Fans felt personally betrayed when The Heartbreak Kid gave Marty Jannetty sweet chin music in the Barber Shop. The soul captivating immersive nature of the wrestling world even caught hold of my psyche for one distinctive instance. I have an image of The Rock bloody in the middle of the ring at the end of a Smackdown episode that has not left my brain since the night I saw it. The image that follows that one in my mental View Master is of a very young version of myself on my knees in the middle of living room with tears and snot pouring out of me.
