It's a Friday night and I've just finished cooking. The scent of satay chicken is still fresh in the air as I sip away at the bottle of soju I've shamelessly cracked open (it's been a long week, ok?). I'm scrolling through the latest submissions of some of the incredible Vocal Creators I've subscribed to, but I can't help but notice some of my favourite writers are missing from the list in my notifications. I know they've posted recently because I saw their work on the 'Top Stories' page when I briefly scrolled past this morning, but I can't see them yet.

Wicked Words
It was cruel, but I couldn’t help myself. Their disappointment was just so captivatingly delicious. People rely on certainty, on finality, and on knowing how things end, you see. They expect a twist or a dark revelation. They hang on every word; waiting, reading, and anticipating, and I took advantage of that, devouring the hopes they once held so high.

The Bedwarmers
With each sunrise, another pillow is found cold. We have too many beds and not enough survivors. Housework earns my place here and when another bed is found empty, it’s my job to clean and remake it, not that any are ever filled again. This one is a single, equipped with a tattered teddy and spaceship-patterned sheets.
