Born and raised on the Canadian Prairies, I currently reside on the West Coast. I call both places home.

A lesser known path. Top Story - October 2023.
I don’t know what made me go this way, I never take this path. Ask anyone who knows me, I’m a creature of habit. In fact, it wouldn’t be hard to assassinate me, if someone wanted too. I don’t know why they would, I am just saying it wouldn’t be hard.

An explosion rips a hole in the side of our ship, the outer shell disintegrates as a vacuum is created and begins to crumple the structure like paper. There is no chance for thought as I am sucked out into the vastness of space. If I wish to be an optimist, I could say that I am a lucky one, as I had my suit on me before we were so rudely evacuated. Many were not, their bodies float aimlessly along with the debris. Expressions of fear, frozen on their face for an eternity.

The Gift
Allo gave an involuntary shudder as he laid the final explosive charge in the casing, lowering it down the deep cylindrical hole. He loved his profession, but this latest tour of duty did not sit well with him. Deep down it felt wrong. Yet he knew it was unavoidable, as this is the easiest way to gather the minerals they desperately needed. Normally they blasted where there were no habitants, but because this place was so rich in alloy deposits, the loss of wildlife was considered acceptable collateral damage. For the past sixty-two nights he proceeded throughout various areas, installing his devices in strategic places, always in the dark, never the day.

Carnalized Onion. Top Story - August 2023. Content Warning.
This tale was written because of a spelling error during my interview with Heather Hubler, who decided it was best to leave it in the final draft. She in fact pointed it out to the readers. Was it funny that she left it in …yes. But I have received one too many smart-ass retorts to let it go on any further. Whilst trying to work on my writings, and complete my first novel, more than a few friends found the interview, and left me some provocative messages and colorful images.
