Rebirth
The pounding on my door was rushed and desperate. I let out a deep sigh, finished off my wine glass and opened the door to my sisters. I flinched seeing his head bounce on the carpet. “There had to be a better way to do that,” I said.

Waiting
“You weren’t supposed to fall in love with someone else,” I whispered. Even through teary eyes, I could see Jacob’s face turn from excitement to confusion. Upgrade
The aroma of onions and herbs surrounded me as I walked inside of my home. I reveled in it for a minute before cursing myself for not reminding Lucas that he didn’t need to cook today. I set my laptop bag down on the couch and made my way to the kitchen. Lucas was blasting some indie pop song I didn’t recognize and was singing along, gently moving his hips to the beat while he sauteed something. I couldn’t help but to giggle a bit and he immediately turned away from the stove to face me.
