Blessed Doomsday
I’ve been working from home for years, so I stay very out of touch with society. I develop security apps for small businesses. I deliver the code; they pay me. I enjoy the isolation, but I do try and stay somewhat in touch with the outside world. Once a week, usually on Fridays, I turn to a random news channel and watch for about 30 minutes. That’s normally all I can handle. The world is a terrible place. I get it. I don’t need to be reminded for more than 30 minutes a week.

Three Owls
It was nine years ago I started my dream job. Mike was one of the few co-workers in my peer group. He always smiled when our eyes met. We often ate lunch together and would find ourselves engulfed in conversation well after our 30-minute lunch break. We would voluntarily stay later to make up the time but would still end up talking after hours.
