Some say she was born to dislike God. At the age of one, she was so ill with a terrible case of polio that she was paralyzed from the lumbar spine down, so that while other children were gradually able to run and jump, she had to crawl instead. Since the age of six, she has undergone more than 40 surgeries and 270 incisions on her body.
